Standard place names need fixing after attaching sources.
Quite often when attaching sources you update the event info to standard date format. The event place automatically shows it is in standard place format.
However after adding source and looking on record it shows you are at the non-standard place name format. How come this is happening. I mostly see this when attaching marriage sources, death indexes, etc.
This only happens when event field is blank to start with.

This standardization issue has been fixed in the new Source Linker version, which started rolling out November 6th. We apologize for the frustration that you experienced. As Gordon mentions above, Source Linker was on an older code and we were limited in the changes that could be made.

The record hints attachment tool seems to have several bugs when it comes to attaching records having to do with marriages:
1) The marriage place, even though an auto-generated standardized place is shown in the tool when attaching the source to the person, upon returning to the individuals detail page, the marriage place is flagged as non-standardized. I've seen this frequently, so here is a current example that I haven't corrected yet, if this could be reported as a bug to the engineers--Josias Via, L7P3-BF1
2) When attaching divorce records that contain both the marriage date and divorce date, if I "add" both dates in the source attachment tool, after the attachment is completed, only one of the date entries is there. I don't have a current example of this, but have seen it multiple times.

For the second error, where are you looking for the divorce information? Only the couple event with the earliest date shows in the Family Members section, as well as on the info-popup that results from clicking on that earliest event's date or place. You can only see divorces or other later events if you click the edit (pencil) button next to the marriage.

I should have been more clear. Even if I click the pencil icon, only one of the dates is present. Maybe my real question is what is the proper way or place to report these bugs?

Why, when I add a marriage that took place in St. Louis, MO, Family Tree always flags the location?
I do extensive family tree research in the St Louis, MO area. For the past few months, whenever I add attach a marriage date and place from the Research Help list on the right of the Person screen, the location is ALWAYS flagged as "Missing Standardized Marriage Place This couple does not have a standardized marriage place." Then I have to click on edit the marriage, erase the last "s" in United States (or any other letter, but the S is easiest) and replace it again - essentially changing nothing - and then the location is accepted as standard. I even tried replacing a letter before I clicked the attach button. Nope, that doesn't work as the location is still flagged as Missing Standardized Marriage Place... I have to go in after attaching and "fix" the location. I don't have this problem when I add marriages from any other location, just from St. Louis. Likewise, births and deaths in St. Louis pose no location problems, just the marriages. It is really annoying and I hope someone can find the glitch in the coding to fix it.

How are you entering the name of the place? "MO" is the United States Postal Service designator for the state of Missouri while the FamilySearch placename is Missouri.
Also - if you are working/typing quickly, the system may not recognize everything you have keyed and return a "missing standardized" message. On occasion, when I type "1860" for example for a year, the system doesn't recognize the last digit and returns a "missing standardized" message for the year.

From the way you describe what you are doing, "attach a marriage date and place from the Research Help list on the right of the Person screen," what you are running into is a well known and oft reported bug in the Source Linker in which sometimes the standard you see on the Source Linker page carries over to the person's Detail page and sometimes it does not.
There's no way to know if they are still working on this bug so that it will be eliminated fully one day or if they are working on a completely new Source Linker and not wasting time fixing the current one.

Very frequently, when I enter a standardized location (location symbol shows up) in the Couple Relationship window, I still get a "non-standard location" error when I get back out to the Details page. Even though the text is accurate, I have to go in and re-select the location to get the error to disappear. This seems to be a systematic issue.

Do you have any examples of places where this has happened ? or even Any person's and their marriage where this has happened?

I fixed all of the ones that had this problem, so I don't have any examples. I do see that others have reported this same sort of problem. Examples: https://community.familysearch.org/en/discussion/97920/standardized-locations and https://community.familysearch.org/en/discussion/84339/standardized-event-place-is-not-being-transferred-to-corresponding-field-when-attaching-sources

Hey guys. We are wondering if you have any current examples of this bug that the engineers can look at.
Mod note - Merged three discussions here.

I would hope that this frequently reported issue is due to the age of the source linker and will be permanently fixed with the new source linker that is supposed to be coming out soon.
In any event, I doubt the programmers will put any effort into fixing anything in the current source linker since it will be going away. At least I sure hope they don't waste their time doing so.
