Standardized Event Place is not being transferred to corresponding field when attaching sources

For a couple of weeks when I have attached sources from United States draft registrations (WWI and WWII) the standardized place was displayed (before attachment along with place icon that looks like an oversized exclamation point), but after attaching the source, the field displays a red exclamation point instead which indicates the standardized place was NOT selected and transferred correctly.

Today, locations from US federal census records are not being standardized when sources are attached, even though the preview pane shows that they have been selected. Intermittent problems with marriage record places too.

This means that almost every time I attach a source, I have to go back and select the Standardized Event Place and correct the entry....making for double work. Having to correct my own work!

More and more sources are creating this problem. WHY?

I hope this specific problem is investigated by someone at FamilySearch. However, the problem of having to standardise place names after they have gone across (in the source linker process) is very common.

This is particularly true when adding (England & Wales) census sources. It is currently possible to move across two items showing residence details. One of these is usually just a street name, which will immediately appear with the red exclamation mark alongside!

Whilst the big problem with newly added sources generally relates to items transferring to Residence and Custom Event fields (rather than Vitals), it is still annoying to see all those "data warning errors" on the Person pages of a family, immediately after using the source linker.

So, as well as checking out your particular problem with United States draft registrations, I hope this whole area (of non-standard names in sources) can be looked into by the programmers / developers.
