I am having the same issue. My internet access is through a mobile hot spot which has issues with VPN so turning that on is not an option for me. I've tried all the other offered solutions. Any other ideas? The error message I'm getting is:

I'm getting access denied error 15 too! Frustrating since I haven't done anything different from when I could print names before. Anyone find a way to fix this?

Same Error 15 here - out of the blue. Have tried most everything mentioned here. Thank you all for the suggestions and I hope it works fine tomorrow out of the blue.

@linda whitledge Just an interested user. Have you had any success ?

I, and others, keep getting this message, "Access denied Error 15 www.familysearch.org 2022-12-12 14:38:33 UTC." It makes your site unusable.

I just encountered the Error 15 problem this morning, using Firefox on Windows 10.
I switched to Chrome on the same PC and was able to access FamilySearch without a problem.
Returned to Firefox, Settings, Privacy, Manage Data, and deleted FamilySearch cookies. Closed and reopened Firefox, and the Error 15 message has gone.
The shortcut to familysearch.org/cookies to remove cookies had not done the trick.
IOW - you can still use FamilySearch after you run into the Error 15 issue.

I am receiving the same error message.
I am on Tmobile internet and no special security software

Can you tell us more about where you are getting this error message? Since you have been able to post here on FamilySearch Community, I suspect is an error you are getting working on the main FamilySearch site. Can you tell us more about what you were doing and what you were trying to do. What operating system and browser you are using and if you can get the others that are running into the same issue to report the same things here as well, it will help us to figure out what is going wrong.

Familysearch site is back up for me with Error 15 disappearing. The site has drastically changed. I assume the outage was to install the upgraded software. Not sure I like the new format yet. Time will tell.

Turn on "Secure VPN". For me that was in Norton. On my iPhone and iPad, it's in "Settings".

Please try it now. Fine-tuning is in process.

I am running firefox under w10. I've been experiencing the Error15 for over a week when I try to log in. The behavior is not not deterministic since "infrequently" the login is successful. Was there some kind of security change? The behavior almost seems to be a malicious bug.

It is December 17th and I am still being blocked. How long will it take the "engineers" to fix this?

Did you clear your cookies? I had the Error 15 one morning. Cleared my cookies, and it hasn't come back.

This is upsetting. I was just working on my family tree & I get this Access Denied
What do I do 2 fix this & stayed fixed
Thank you Dannielle Lafferty

This continues to be an issue for me as well. All suggested solutions do not work (in Firefox).
The suggested workaround to "Open your web browser in an Incognito/Private window" is frankly ridiculous for sites requiring a login. You really should be able to set this up better - is there no one at all with the technical competence to handle this issue on your end? In that case, you might want to rethink using "solutions" such as Imperva.

I get this error too.
Did anybody realize it could be caused by an IPv4 / IPv6 gateway?
I have no idea how transfer is made, if the server does not have an IPv6 address.
the error always shows two IPv4 addresses: "Your IP" and "Proxy IP".
If I check my IP using any online service, turns out I DON'T have an IPv4, only IPv6. Which does make sense when IPv6 address space de facto has run out several years ago.
So Familysearch please check:
- is there something wrong with your DNS-record which results in clients trying IPv4 when they should use IPv6?
- where does the translation between IPv4 and IPv6 happen?

does not work, as there is no

I was only getting around it today by accessing familysearch.org from an incognito window. So I cleared all cookies for familysearch.org in Chrome. Now I'm getting in normally, without the error 15. But the issue comes back easily, whenever I click to another page.
In my version of chrome (Version 108.0.5359.71 (Official Build) (64-bit)) on Ubuntu Linux, this was under:
Settings -> Privacy and security -> Cookies and other site data -> See all site data and permissions -> search for familysearch.org -> Clear displayed data

The issue of error 15 has been known since the beginning of November 2022 and is still recurrent at the beginning of January 2023.
Do you think you will be able to solve this problem soon ?

I also encountered the Error 15. Discovered that going into incognity in the Chrome Browser my old login information worked, and I could use FamilySearch as I used to. Including reaction to hints provided via email.
Regards, Niels

I also experienced the Error 15 problem. Then I went into incognito mode in Chrome, and was able to use the same links, I had attempted in normal mod. Having attempted to removed cookies from FamilySearch. But that is my next idea. When you go into incognito mode information from previous logins does enter into the picture.

Here but not without going into incognito mode in Chrome. However, if I click the FamilySearch logo an new page opens with the Error 15. I did remove all of 43 cookies, but that did not solve the problem.

I had the Error 15 problem here in Denmark. Delete all family search cookies from my Google Chrome browser. Problem still there. Restarted computer. Problem gone.

I had the same problem and deleted McAfee and now I can access the sites I was blocked from...you weren't the only site blocked
