Indexing long lists

When I first got involved with indexing, it was for the the 1940 US Census. It allowed us to index the list in a table, rather than by record, so I could move down the list and put in all the house numbers and then all the surnames and then all the first names, etc. It made it very easy and much quicker.

Now I'm looking at this list of 100 birth records and it forces me to go one line/person at a time. Can we get the option of doing it in table form, like we did with the 1940 Census?
