Ordinances Ready (Baptisms)

For baptisms especially, could we indicate how many cards to print....for example 1-8 cards? Four is no longer enough. I understand we need to teach people how to do research. I'm talking about people who suddenly have youth who want to do baptisms. Lets get the youth in the temple!

Thank you!

I agree with Susan about giving us the possibility of printing more ordinances for temple ready. We have several in my family who are helping me with my line and we need to print out many more ordinance cards which can be found with temple ready.

    All

    FYI

    [ I reiterate ... ]

    I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...

[ And, I happen to be a Member of the Church ... ]

    Just in passing ...

    And, just to clarify ...

This suggested enhancement, is a desire of many ...

    But ...

    That Said ...

What most FAIL to understand is that ...

"OrdinancesReady" is NOT be the answer ...

"OrdinancesReady", has a specific "Limits" applied, on the Number, of "Reservations", for a particular "Ordinance".

Here is a "Knowledge Articles", in 'FamilySearch':

How do I find family names for the temple with Ordinances Ready?

    https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/article/how-do-i-find-family-names-for-the-temple-with-ordinances-ready

Where, it states, among other things:

    Quote

    ------------------

The Ordinances Ready feature finds enough ordinances for your next temple session:

    • 4 or 5 Baptisms and Confirmations
    • 3 to 5 Initiatories
    • 1 Endowment
    • Up to 5 Sealings to Spouse
    • Up to 10 Sealings to Parents

    ------------------

    Now ...

    That Said ...

We can ALREADY, "Print" ANY Number of "Temple" Cards, ourselves, WITHOUT "OrdinancesReady.

We can do that ourselves, in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch":

▬ in the "Ordinances" 'Tab', of our Ancestors; and/or.

    ▬ Our OWN "Ordinances" 'Tab'

There is NO restriction on the Number of "Temple" Cards (or, the Gender, of individuals/persons) ...

And, we can do such; as, the "Helper", of ANOTHER User/Patron ...

    So ...

    That Said ...

What is desired, is SOMETHING, that "OrdinancesReady", was SPECIFICALLY, designed, NOT, to be able to do.

    Please let me explain ...

Please be aware that the "OrdinancesReady" feature/function/facility is ONLY, really, for a quick; and, easy, process of, FINDING; and, PRINTING, the "Temple" Cards, when one is going to visit the "Temple", that day or the next, when one DOES NOT have ANY "Temple" Cards, 'on-hand', available.

The "OrdinancesReady" feature/function/facility is certainly NO substitute, for doing one's due diligence, well IN ADVANCE of visiting the "Temple" of, FINDING; and, PRINTING, the "Temple" Cards, for one's Ancestors, to have 'on-hand', available, through one's "Reservations" List; and/or, normal research.

Hence, the reason, that we ONLY get BOTH:

▬ a "Limited" Number of "Ordinances", for the various "Types" of "Ordinances"; and,

▬ "Temple" Work, for people, of the SAME "Gender", as ourselves,

is a DESIGN Feature of "OrdinancesReady".

    Plus ...

As, "OrdinancesReady" is ONLY, a quick; and, easy, process of, FINDING; and, PRINTING, the "Temple" Cards, when one is going to visit the "Temple", that day or the next, when one DOES NOT have ANY "Temple" Cards, 'on-hand', available ...

I would humbly suggest that, what is desired, may not be considered as appropriate, in view of the intended Design.

Here are some more "Knowledge Articles", in 'FamilySearch':

How do I find family names for the temple with Ordinances Ready?

    https://www.familysearch.org/help/helpcenter/article/how-do-i-find-family-names-for-the-temple-with-ordinances-ready

    Where it states, among other things;

    Quote

    ------------------

Ordinances Ready is designed to provide family name cards for the person signed in to the website or the Family Tree app. For example, if you are female, it only searches for ancestors who are likewise female so that you can perform their ordinances.

    ------------------

    And ...

Where does Ordinances Ready get names?

    https://www.familysearch.org/help/helpcenter/article/where-does-ordinances-ready-get-names

    Where it states, among other things;

    Quote

    ------------------

Ordinances Ready finds names for you that are your [ Gender ] (that is, male names for male users and female names for female users).

    ------------------

    Unfortunately ...

In this day and age, it appears that many Users/Patrons, consider that "OrdinancesReady" is the way to go; as, "OrdinancesReady" is such, a quick; and, easy, process.

We never had, "OrdinancesReady" up until a few Years ago.

"OrdinancesReady", is simply helpful/useful for those, that are 'caught in a bind'; when, they have a "Temple" visit scheduled (or, are notified of one, scheduled by, a Ward/Branch/Stake/District); but, unfortunately, do not have any "Temple" Cards, for their Ancestors, 'on-hand', available.

    Just my thoughts.

I know, that this certainly does not help/assist; but, I hope, this provides some additional, insight; and, perspective.

    Whereas ...

Who is to say things will not change in the future ...

    Brett,

Why did you need to put this old discussion on my suggestion. I understand and teach everything you've said and sent me. This is a suggestion not a question.

    All the best!

    Susan

    Just in passing ...

"Correlating", the related 'Posts'/'Comments', for OTHERS ...

Rather, than having them "Disjointed" ...

So, as, to allow OTHERS, to be aware, of the existence of "Related" 'Posts'/'Comments' ...

Otherwise, OTHERS, often add 'Comments', NOT being aware, that there are related 'Posts'/'Comments' exist.
