Personal names in Russian and German
G6TJ-BSG.
Why does the Cyrillic version of the name appear on the profile title?

If you edit the name you see the language is set for Russian. I guess someone else did that.

I added both names. I added the Russian second, but it appears on the title. And I don't see a way to reverse them.

Taking your hint, @Gail Swihart Watson, I tried switching to German but when I save the edit the language setting reverts back to Russian.

dontiknowyou OK, I looked at the the history of all changes (which you have done, thank you!) and the Cyrillic seems to have started when one particular source was added. Perhaps something about that source enforces the language change??? You will be able to tell which one it is.

The German setting is not saving because it doesn't have a second "slot". You have to delete the Russian (Cyrillic) entry in order for the language setting to save in a Roman-alphabet language.
I suggest putting the Russian version of the name under Other. The header and other display areas use the name from the Vitals box; for non-Roman-alphabet names, the Roman alphabet transliteration is secondary, and not the value that's displayed.

Yes, I thought of using an alternate name. I'll do that now.
