Direct link to project discussion from an indexing batch

Have a direct link from an indexing batch (probably in the help menu) to a project discussion group (a group that's automatically created) where the community can offer more help and ideas to others doing batches for the same project -- all in one place.

Separate discussion group for each separate indexing project, with subfolders able to be created in those groups, to further organize them.

Suggested by genthusiast : The batch ID can be automatically put into the post title.

So it would go to the project group when they click either on the "Community Help" under the Help menu :

Or if they click on the "Community help" button on the right side :

I'm using "Table entry" mode instead of the default "Form entry" mode, so the bottom part of these screenshots might look a little different.

@D Todd Wolford - Thank you for posting your idea. For those of us new to indexing, would you be able to give more information? Maybe with screenshots if you can?

It makes sense. This would eliminate the need to post batch code if each batch had an automatic discuss room/link to the specific indexing Project. But how that would integrate into the current Community questions/platform might be a little difficult (if possible) or need some development (probably some sort of webhook or other - probably supported by Vanilla platform).

If I understand your idea correctly - if the Community/Help link was selected while indexing- you would want it to automatically include the batch code and attach to a Project discussion/room here in Community - rather than the person indexing having to manually input that into a discussion/question? This would mean all questions/discussions/threads/posts about a particular indexing Project would be contained/wrapped - if that link were used. It sounds like a reasonable idea ... upvoted.

@D Todd Wolford , I strongly support this idea.

I proposed an idea akin to this one back in June 2021. My version suggested establishing a home page for each project or project type where FAQs and other project-specific resources could be concentrated rather than scattered around. It got only five upvotes. @Melissa S Himes And I have raised this issue several times over the years, even during the early days of The Indexing Chat Group in 2018 or so. When the Group was small, this could be a possible dilution of resources or attention. But even when we were at over 2K, maybe close to 3K members, it just never happened. I hope something does this time. It would be so much more efficient.

Below is a link to my idea, but please don’t vote for it; please vote for Todd’s version. Those who make things like this happen can choose the best of both.

It's kind of interesting that the moderators can directly access all of our batches without a batch code. (Which I really don't agree with, BTW). So, it certainly shouldn't be too much trouble to have the "lowly" patrons who are answering the questions have direct access to a batch, as opposed to having to ask the inquirers to share their batch codes.
