Create A Home Page for each Project
I want to acknowledge that this idea has been suggested previously by myself and others in some form.
Here and now, I suggest that for each project a “Home Page” be created (once for all parts A, B, C etc.) that would be “home” for specific Indexing and Reviewing issues related to that Project (each and every part of that project). I do realize that not all parts of a Project are identical in every way, but I believe that they are usually enough alike for this concept to work. Issues raised and answered or responded to on the Indexing Q&A and Indexing Ideas forums would be linked to on the Project Home Page. Most Important: Pinned at the front of the Home Page would be curated tips, pitfalls and the latest advice specific to that Project.
I’m aware that there is is a currently unused “What to look for While Reviewing” section, and a “What to Remember About This Project” section. For the pinned section, I’m purposely referring to the 20% or fewer of the issues that are responsible for 80% or more of the problems that Indexers and Reviewers have with specific projects.
If I thought it would fly, I’d suggest that Q&A about a specific project be directed to the Home Page of that Project rather than to a general Q&A as it is now. Or maybe I’d suggest that the Q&A forum have Q&A sub-fora within it relating to specific Projects to better focus attention and expertise. But I’d settle for the home page being a “receptacle” and library of project information and advice. Obviously, each Project Home Page would need a Moderator or two experienced with the project to be responsible for curating and maintenance.
