Cannot upload my 107MB GEDCOM file
I have uploaded updated versions of my Gedcom file for years with no problem. It is 107MB. During the last several days, it will not load, and I get a message: "! Unable to upload files larger than 300MB." My file is half that amount, and has never had a problem loading before. There seems to be a problem with the program for uploading files...and I wish that the Family Search techs would get it fixed ASAP - especially now that other genealogy sites are using these genealogies for their researchers.

Welcome to the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum.
I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...
Just in passing ...
So, you are having problems/issues, with "Uploading", the GEDCOM File, to the "Genealogies" Part, of 'FamilySearch'; and, the "Wheel", just continues to "Spin"; but, NOT be completed.
[ Oops, sorry, I think that should actually be ... 'Status' ... Processing ... ]
Question: Is that correct?
ie.

Please advise.
As, there were some recent posts (ie. reports), not so long back, on such a matter.
I cannot remember the outcome ...
I will 'look' back through the posts, and, return to this post of yours.

Thinking out aloud ...
▬ ( Long Shot) I wonder, if the "Version" of the GEDCOM File, is an OLD one; thus, not being recognised.
▬ Are your "Operating System"; and, "Browser(s)", compatible with 'FamilySearch'?
.... Are the "Versions" of your "Operating System"; and, "Browser(s), the LATEST; at least, the PREVIOUS ...
.... OLDER "Versions" of such, may NOT work properly, with 'FamilySearch'
▬ IF, you have not; THEN, try "Clearing" the, "Cookies"; and, "Cache", of your "Browser".
.... Then, try "Uploading" AGAIN - Leaving those STILL "Processing", 'as is' (ie. in "Limbo")

Just some thoughts.
I know, that this certainly may not help/assist, sorry.

I have a .ged file, freshly exported from ancestry.com, and am getting "Unable to upload files larger than 300MB." But, when I look at the .ged file in Finder (I'm on a Mac), it says that's it's 1.9Mb.
My OS, browser (Google Chrome), etc. are all completely up to date.
How do I upload this .ged file into FamilySearch?

We used your Helper Information to access your Family Tree. We found your recent GEDCOM by clicking Search, Genealogies, and scrolling down to locate "My uploaded Trees", and clicked it.. The one uploaded on January 11, 2022 is ready to view. Another GEDCOM from October says processing. If it is the same GEDCOM, you may wish to delete it.
Good luck with the review process.

You may need to delete cookies and temporary files, before trying again to upload your GEDCOM file. The article https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/article/how-do-i-delete-all-of-the-cookies-and-temporary-files-stored-by-my-internet-browser may help.
These articles also:

I have 'seen', a few posts of late, regarding problems/issues, regarding the "Upload", of GEDOM Files, in 'FamilySearch', that were UNDER the "File" Size LIMIT; as, in your case - even, one earlier this morning (today).
And, I am not certain that there was any particular commonality.
'Yes', the "File" Size of your GEDCOM File seems to be well UNDER the size LIMIT ...
And, even, the suggested size being:
- We recommend that you submit small GEDCOM files of no more than100 names. After the upload, smaller files make the compare and copy process easier to manage.
- If you intend to simply preserve and share your file, it can contain up to 100 MB.
Now ...
That Said ...
There DEFINITELY seems to be a problem/issue with regard to "Uploading" GEDCOM Files. at the moment.
So ...
It is ODD, that a GEDOM File, with such SMALL "File" Size, would be getting such an ERROR Message.
Here are a couple of "Knowledge Articles", in 'FamilySearch':
How should I prepare my GEDCOM file?
https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/article/how-should-i-prepare-my-gedcom-file
How do I upload my GEDCOM file?
https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/article/how-do-i-upload-my-gedcom-file
Good Luck.
Just my thoughts.
I know, that this certainly may not help/assist; but, I hope, that this may provide you with, some additional, insight; and, perspective; plus, other avenues to pursue.

The thing is, I have been uploading revised editions of the same tree, 107MB, for years. I delete the older version once the newly uploaded genealogy Gedcom is labeled "ready." This problem with uploading - with a message that files over 300MB cannot be uploaded (again, my file is 107MB) - just started about a week and a half ago. My question to the tech department is: What did they do about two weeks ago that threw a monkey wrench into the works?

Already tried the deleting of cookies, "clearing the cache." Didn't work. Gedcom file will not upload. Message still pops up that "Cannot upload files over 300MB," for a 107MB file that never had this problem before.

The file from Oct 2021 NEVER finished processing and seems "stuck." No one seems to be able to delete it.
I usually do not have a problem with uploading a new, revised Gedcom file. I use the same tree, just with revisions, and delete the older version when the new file is "ready." The January 11th file is the older version that I want to replace with corrected file information.

Hi Annie,
This has been added as a known issue. We are advised to ask our guests to upload two screenshots, one of the file size, and another of the error message. Once we receive them we will forward them to a specialty department to help them correct the issue.

You can also see the October 2021 tree that was never fully processed, and is stuck in "limbo."

FYI
This particular problem/issue, of the INABILITY, to successfully, "Upload", a GEDCOM File; when, such a "File", is WELL under the MAXIMUM "File" SIZE, that is allowed, appears to be an ONGOING matter, that NEEDS investigation, by the 'FamilySearch' (Programmers/Engineers).
There does not appears to be any particular commonality.
[ eg. GEDCOM Files, produced, from DIFFERENT "Sources" ... ]
As, sometimes it works; whereas, sometimes, it does not.
As, there HAS been a number of BOTH, 'Posts'; and, 'Comments', on this matter ...
As, you are a "Moderator" [ ie. 'FamilySearch' "Support" ( Personnel ) ] ...
PLEASE; Please; please ...
On the basis of this post, alone ...
Can the matter; as, a WHOLE, be referred to the Area/Department, that is responsible, for overseeing the "Upload", of GEDCOM Files, into 'FamilySearch'.
If such, has not already, been initiated.
'Thank You' in advance.
Submitted for your immediate, information; attention; and, consideration.
Kind Regards.

[ As, referenced in the aforementioned 'Post', that I referenced, in my previous 'Comment', in this post ... ]
Seriously ...
Question: WHAT has the aforementioned 'Post', go to do, with "... the Italian Groups in the Community ..."?
[ Regardless, of WHERE, a Participant, may "Reside" ... ]
Please advise.
The aforementioned 'Post', relates to, the UNSUCCESSFUL "Upload", of a GEDCOM File, into the "Genealogies" Part, of 'FamilySearch'!
This aforementioned 'Post', has NOTHING to do with "... the Italian Groups in the Community ..."!
And ...
Furthermore ...
The aforementioned 'Post', that I referenced, in my previous 'Comment', in this post ... is NOT "Country"/"Region" specific ...
[ There should be NO such "Bounds" (ie. constraints), with this "Community.FamilySearch" Forum ... ]

As such ...

PASS ON, the aforementioned 'Post', up the line, in conjunction, with this 'Post'.

Hi, Sanra!
Could you check in with your tech department for me and find out how getting the upload problem fixed is going? Uploading was working fine on January 11th - but not working shortly afterward. Did anyone do something to the program that caused it to not work around that time?
Thank you for helping!
Annie

Hi Annie
All we know is that they are working on it, and will alert us when the get it figured out. It was first reported on January 13. It takes a few days to find out if the issue is only with one person, or if it is system wide. The engineers will need to figure out the cause, so they know how to correct it. We have no indication of how long it will take.

The uploading a Gedcom problem is still happening. But, one thing I've noticed is that the "uploading" bar at the very bottom of the pop-up window (the one you leave open until uploaded) goes very, very fast - which it never did when the uploading process worked correctly. Quickly followed by the file too big notice - even though it's much smaller.
