I haven't been online for a week or more. The search panel on the right, used to have a X to close it. That seems to be gone now and the panel is not closeable nor resizable. It makes the results panel too small. How to fix this?
There is no fix. That is the way the Search parameters function currently. Not an improvement for those needing screen space for results ... You can click on the Preferences (top right of Results page - right of the filter bubbles) and change between Fixed Table and Data Sheet and explore whether those options meet your screen space needs better. You can also try your browser zoom functions - zooming out I was able to read results up to about 75% zoom size - this does allow you to view more Results on the screen.

You can export the Search Results to a spreadsheet - also found through the Preferences (which was moved to top right of Results page - right of the filter bubbles) which will allow you to view more results. Just make sure you change the default amount of results displayed (bottom left of Results page) and choose the amount you want exported (otherwise the default is 20 Results and not synched to your choice on the Results page).

What has FamilySearch done now? I try to search record, the search detail entry page comes up but now there is no way to close it and it covers have the page of the results, with no way to close it! Does anyone ever error prove at FamilySearch IT Dept?

On both iOS and Android versions of Family Search you can not close the "advanced" search and last night it was working perfectly normal with the option on top of the search results where it should be if using the app now however all you see is the person's name, show more and the filters and results then half of the screen has the "advanced" search field and you have to drag it down to get it semi out of the way but it can not be closed yes they are making it incredibly bulky, unuser friendly and just absolutely junk but they don't listen to us at all...

Well obviously there is an issue. It is broken. Just fix it. The site is next to useless for me now.

So many things not working after the update. Records not loading after doing a search, similar suggested records also not opening, no option to edit a search? What is going on here - FS is such a dysfunctional site now - is nothing tested prior to release. It is impossible to search at all. Very disappointing and FS has gone backwards- just when we all got used to the last update they break everything and make it worse. Links not opening up. I don’t understand how this version could be released with so many glitches?
Plus where can we give feedback as that option is now gone?
