I have corrected the birthdate at the page of one person.

The birthdate was total wrong (it was the date of the death)

When I go to the page of one of her sons

then the old and wrong date is there and I don't know how to correct it.

So comes the message "Child Born before Mother".

I hat this questions some weeks before,

maybe I hat it not precise formulated.

I am not a native English speaker.

    You will need to open the record on each child and when you are in the child's record you can click "Edit" and it will open a Window that will allow you to correct the child's birth date.

    @Tom123 is right

    Here is another tip, there are 3 icons placed to the right of the "trashcan" icon. They are shortcuts for copying information into other fields without having to type each one individually.

    This is useful if the children have a slot for a mothers birthdate and they all have the same mother. Then you can just use the shortcuts to copy and paste that value from the first entry to all other entries.

    Im not sure if that will help you here in this situation, but maybe in the future.

    How can a person's mismatching birthdates be corrected? On the "Details" page for person ID GQHV-FN1 the banner birthdate does not match the vital birthdate. The vital birthdate of "19 January 1823" is the correct date. Thanks!

    @Ken Shelley

    To correct the birthdate at the top of the page, click on Edit beside Birth, put a space behind the correct birth date, and choose the Standardized date underneath, put in your reason, and click Save. That will correct the date at the top of the screen. You may need to refresh the page.

    Good luck.

    There have been several questions this week about dates doing strange things. Since these all seem to stem from not having a clear understanding of how dates get entered and stored in Family Tree, I threw together a brief presentation on how to enter and edit dates that I hope will help. I'm posting this on the other questions about dates as well.
