When you don't see a date on your batch muster roll or roster sheet, it might be because yours is a continuation of a multi-page document. We're allowed/ encouraged to look at previous images - by opening/ showing "reference images" - to find the first page and the date of that full document.
Please do what @annewandering suggests and open the "reference images" -the five before and after your batch image. She gave you two ways to do it. The reference images are labeled -5, -4, -3, -2 -1, and then +1, +2, +3, +4, +5.
In your case, reference image -1 has the date of the two-page monthly roster, of which your batch image is page 2. Below is the top of that first page. And I've circled the date of that monthly roster: August 31, 1928. That date applies to both pages of the roster, including yours. Since none of the soldiers on your roster page has an enlistment date, you may use the roster date as the Military Date for all of them. If any of them had their enlistment date given, then the Military Date for those soldiers would be their enlistment date - the "gold standard" for Military Dates. Be sure to read all parts of the Project Instructions and the Field Helps - the purple question mark that appears when you click on a field.
As you'll see mentioned in a few places in the Instructions, the priority order for Military Dates is:
- Enlistment date
- Muster roll or monthly roster date
- Any other applicable military date

You can often find dates in the reference images.
Field Help, Military Year> "If a year is not given, it may have been recorded on a previous image."
"You can view multiple images while you index. The additional images are reference images and can help you with your work.
Steps
- Click the 4th icon in the small, vertical toolbar to the left of the screen.
- You can also click Data Entry in the top menu, and then click Show Reference Images.
- The reference image opens on the right side of the image area. Click the thumbnail of the image you want to view."
0 - Click the 4th icon in the small, vertical toolbar to the left of the screen.
