How do I enter an apostrophe in a surname if a field will not let me?
I am indexing in US, Missouri—County Marriages, 1806–1969 [Part O][M9L6-26T] and have the surname O'Neill but the field will not let me put in the apostrophe. Do I enter ONeill?

I have a name O'Connor. Program is not allowing me to use the apostrophe in entering the name. It is a problem I have never experienced in the past, and since I can enter it in this communication, it is confusing to me. Do I leave it as "O Connor" and return it or is there a fix needed in the program? Thank you.
Some projects appear to have this problem with the Surname field. I don't know if FS has acknowledged this as a "bug," but the recommended "solution"/ action is to index it without the apostrophe and move on. For example, index O'Hara as OHara. The search engine should bring Researchers to the image either way, and they will see the actual name with an apostrophe. I have one project that allows it and one that doesn't. Punctuation is generally not required, so, uncomfortable as it may be to omit the ', it's OK.
