I am unable to remove someone added to my tree in error - I've used 'remove/replace for her husband
but he and she are still showing in my family tree and I don't seem able to remove them - I think I have selected the wrong David Moffat who has a wife called Jannet Hamilton and based on a child record shown these aren't the correct people for my family tree but I can't remove them. Please can you help me? Many thanks Sue

If you tried to remove an incorrect spousal relationship, the couple will still remain together as long as children are connected to the couple, even if they no longer show that they are "in a relationship".
To remove the incorrect parents from your pedigree, you do not change the couple relationship, you delete the incorrect parent-child relationship by working from the child's record.
Since you did not provide the ID numbers for your correct ancestor who is linked to the wrong parents, we cannot give you specific instructions, but the following knowledge article explains that you go to the Family Members section of the person details page for the child. On the right side, click the Edit pencil in the child's box and then on the flyout, go to the third box which is for the child and click the Remove or Replace link in that box. Follow the prompts on the next popup to verify you have checked the relationships, etc, for each person involved and then go ahead and delete the relationship. If you know the ID numbers of the correct parents, you can choose to replace the current parents, but if you are not certain, just delete the current parent-child relationship to correct future generations on your pedigree. This will give you a chance to be sure you link this child to the correct set of parents.
Please keep in mind that if you need further assistance, you may call us at our toll-free number 1-866-406-1830 after our Conference Weekend and one of our agents can guide you through making this correction.
We wish you every success as you continue to work in Family Tree.

Hi, I am not doing very well here - I tried to remove all children under the record I am trying to remove and the good news is the children are no longer showing but the incorrect record is still there. It has a code of G39V-T7T. I am pretty sure I've removed all children associated to her record but she still shows in my family tree. Please can you remove it for me? Sorry to be a pain. Thank you in advance Sue

Please don't be discouraged! It is fine for the record of Jannet Hamilton G39V-T7T to remain in the Family Tree program which is not your personal family tree, but is a World-wide family tree that is shared by all of our users.
Once you remove all relationships and the person of concern stands alone in the Family Tree program, your pedigree should look correct when you click Tree to go to the Pedigree views. We went to this record and Jannet stands alone. Hopefully someone who is actually a descendant will find this record and link it into their own ancestral line.
Thank you for your efforts to improve your own pedigree while leaving a record that someone else may need for their ancestral line. Please click Tree and click the Home icon to put you in the starting position, then track your pedigree to where Jannet was previously to be sure that your pedigree appears the way you believe it should appear.

Many thanks for such a swift reply and I'm sorry I couldn't figure out how to do it (as I am very new to this). I shall follow your instructions and hopefully get back on track with the right details. Thank you Sue

@SusanSmith461 you have detached all family members from G39V-T7T but notice that G39V-T7T still has 14 sources attached. Presumably some of them belong there, but sources belonging to your family will need to be detached from G39V-T7T. If they are not attached correctly, the Family Tree hints system will suggest that G39V-T7T is a duplicate of your family member.

Hope the article suggested in the posting above fully answered your question.
This issue often generates questions, and these may have been answered previously. Just a tip to save you some time......before posting a question, it may be helpful to you to check if this topic has been addressed previously - You can add keywords (in this case 'incorrect person' or 'remove incorrect relationship' ) to the search bar, and other similarly themed questions will appear and may provide you with a quicker answer.
Hope this helps.
