Informative messages FS gives, but really aren't informative

I've been away for awhile, but now I am back to get reacquainted so that my wife and last child at home can learn to use the site.

The family tree is telling me that one of my children does not have a standardized birth place - I checked what was there and it looks fine to me.

Another child, with the exact same birth place, does not have that "informative" message. Yes, they are the same - I copied and pasted both into an editor with one above the other and they match, character by character, even case.

So, what does it mean that the child's standardized birth place isn't standardized?

    Hello @scottmattes1,

Thank you for your question about the message that a date needs to be standardized when it is in the correct format.

Even if dates are showing correctly, you will still need to choose the standardized date with the small calendar icon from the drop-down menu that appears when you go to edit the date. Then your error message will go away.
