I have a similar issue with this record: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:62JL-XDSN?lang=en

A person named Jude in this record is assumed female. He is indeed male and celebrates his birthday today. 😁
This is a Genealogy Bank listing. I have contacted Genealogy Bank and they informed me this was a Family search link. A friend found the record on Genealogy Bank:

@Eugene Breindel A select transcription of the pertinent section of the obituary listing in question (which I am sure you have read, but to help others) reads as follows:

"Doug is survived by his sisters Bette Sweeney of Johnsonburg, Vickie Sorg of St. Mary and Jennifer (John) Ross of Shippensburg and brothers Fritz Sweeney of Johnsonburg, Mike (Barb) Sweeney of St. Marys, Pat (Karen) of Mt. Laurel, NJ, Frank (Gae) of Rockwell, TX and Jude (Michele) of Telford, PA." … as cited by GenealogyBank: Daily Press, The () , obit for Douglas J. Sweeney, GenealogyBank.com (https://www.genealogybank.com/doc/obituaries/obit/192E413BAAB935C8-192E413BAAB935C8 : accessed 9 June 2026)

It may be best to view the FS listing from the perspective of Douglas to compare the labels, so: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:62JL-XDS6 this works better.

Clearly, Jude is a brother and this is an error, as the obituary lists Jude under brothers along with his wife Michele.

@SerraNola How would this be fixed as it is data that comes from GB with no way on their site to correct it?

@Eugene Breindel I attempted to edit this for you, but unfortunately the film just wanted to spin endlessly and never open. I reported it and will bookmark this thread to remember to come back after the fix and take care of the error. Hopefully it won't be too long.

Thank you all for the help!
I wish there existed a chance to provide feedback right on the record page. I think a system similar to Find a Grave's "Suggest edits" to make the system aware of possible problems that an AI or algorithm could evaluate

I have another similar problem today, Lou Ann Chiapelli, Female is linked to Louis Chiappelli Male1957-2025•P6JT-7SN and can't be edited.

It is in the following record→
"United States, Obituary Records, 2014-2023", FamilySearch (https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XMNM-PSFJ : Mon Nov 25 23:09:00 UTC 2024), Entry for Louis Manny Chiappelli, Jr and Louis Chiappelli, Sr, 7 February 2022.

@Eugene Breindel I'm also interested in Louis Chiappelli P6JT-7SN, so here's a thought: have you tried using the Records Issue form to report the issue with "United States, Obituary Records, 2014-2023" and placing a Note on Louis' detail page? Thanks, Mary

@MandyShaw1 and @maryellenstevensbarnes1 , I found the record issues form but before filling it out, I went back the source linker and was able to correct the problem by detaching one misplaced record and reattaching it to the correct individual. At that point I had to change the focus person to Donald E Gustafson Then it allowed me to attach Donald's father Richard D Gustafson and son Richard A Gustafson in their proper places.

Thanks for the help and letting me know about the record issues form.

I think it would be nice if There was a link to the form either on the source linker page or the Tips and resources page associated with the Source Linker

As listed later in this discussion, I submitted a record issue form for the gender issue of Jude Sweeney to see that will help resolve the issue.

    Thanks for your help.
