Hints and Ignore

@maryellenstevensbarnes1 In the website, you can click the IGNORE button associated with each source user hint. That hides the hint from view for you only. I don't think there is a way to ignore all the hints that you may be offered for a profile in one go.

In the Family Tree app, there is a similar mechanism, but the terminology is different. The user hints are called tasks, and the action is "Remove". In the app, using Remove (by swiping a profile name left or right and tapping Remove) causes all the user hints offered for a profile to be ignored in one fell swoop. There doesn't appear to be a way to ignore just one of the hints.

I don't think there is a way to recover hints that you have ignored. Ignoring a hint doesn't affect other users who will continue be offered the same hint in their lists. Nor does it move the profile hint from the profile's Research Helps tab to the Dismissed Helps tab (from where it could be retrieved). The profile hint will continue to be visible to everybody on the profile page and pedigree views, etc.

In short, the impact of ignoring a user hint will be restricted to you alone.
