Problem accessing image when the website is set to work in a foreign language
Hello. We have multiple guests who are having the same problem. They have set the website to work in a foreign language (Swedish, Polish, Ukrainian, Hungarian, Russian). Suddenly, they cannot open images. Some have tested and found when they reset to English or German, they could view images. We have asked guests to report using Feedback. Are you able to confirm whether or not this issue is known to engineers? Thank you.

@karenrasmussen can you provide a URL, or two, so we can test it?

I think the best way to test, would be to put the website into a foreign language mentioned. What happens on your end? If needed, we can go back to guests and ask for specific paths to images.

@karenrasmussen I need specific paths to test this and see if it is a bug.

Okay, I will work to collect these.

@karenrasmussen I caught this through feedback and have it on my agenda to show engineers this afternoon. Thanks, you were probably the one who told him to send it to us!

@karenrasmussen A work order has been created to investigate and correct this problem.

Thank you . Sounds like they are working on it. If needed, as examples come in. I will post below:

I was able to reproduce the error again today, so I’ll take it back to engineering for review. On Friday, neither I nor the engineers could replicate the issues that were present on Wednesday, and they’re unable to proceed without a reproducible example. So, you may still get reports but let them know we're working on it.

@SerraNola
If it is of use, I was able to reproduce the error while at my Affiliate Library today. I used the link from Karen's comment on 25 June - the record for Ignatius Schvarz.
I switched between Magyar/Hungarian and English formats. I could see the image in English, but not in Magyar.0 -
I took at least three tickets today who were still experiencing the problem. Sorry. Hopefully their emails came in before the issue was resolved.

@karenrasmussen This error is the same as what is reported in this thread:
Thanks to @SantaNinfa we learned the image can be accessed with the old viewer and that could be a workaround for frustrated guests. While on the page with the error message, remove view=index from the URL to see the image—at least it worked for me when testing yesterday.
Áine, even though that example involved the Magyar language, it was still from the same collection,
Slovakia Church and Synagogue Books, 1592–1935It would be important to have examples from other collections, if there are any. We have only had one report in Feedback and it was Slovakian.

@SerraNola
I'll keep an eye out. I used Magyar to test since I could decipher much of a view in Magyar.I checked several Romance language options, and had no problems.
I'll probably be back at my AL in the next day or so.

Mod Note: Engineering is reproducing the problem with images and languages (at least Slovic) with public accounts. They are still investigating. Once again, if you have new reports, please provide specific steps to reproduce the problem. Thank you.
