YEAH!! Full Text Search returned results with BOTH public and restricted results
On May 31, 2026, I got wonderful results. See uploaded screen shot. Thank you for this improvement. But wait.. Today I did the same search using a different name, and it didn't work, no restricted records showed up in my list. Tried other variations of names and I do not get that wonderful lock icon showing in my results.
I was so pleased that you made it possible to quickly find those locked files rather than having to go back to the catalog to find what reels contained locked records. Today only thumbnail images next to the file names, no locks for easier identification of more restrictive access.
PLEASE restore the Lock Icons on the full text search accessible records that require the more restricted access.Everyone's research process would be more efficient if we can organize our trips to the FamilySearch Centers. Susan Bleimehl.

I believe there is 'work in progress' to modify how locked records are displayed and the associated interface. Should be back before too long…

Thank you. I was so happy to have discovered that both—the restricted and open— show up in a single search. It's such a time saver. I sure hope that this will happen. And Thank You to the engineers who add improvements to how we can be more efficient in our processes.

Everyone should be happy that locked records were visible in full text search results, but no, there were complaints and now it's gone. My discussion of this has been moved or removed; can't find it.
Apparently the capability won't be back soon.An on off toggle has to be coded and how much of a priority that is isn't clear.Edit: Actually, I found my discussion (it had been moved, https://community.familysearch.org/en/discussion/comment/629569) and as of June 5, it was predicted the coding for an on off toggle would be available "in a few weeks." Yay!
