Bug Report: Changes to Source Linker
Something was changed in Source Linker since yesterday (4/27/2026) when I was using it. I am no longer able to use the "Change Person" button to change the focus person. It opens up a side window and won't let me change the focus person to who I want to change it to.

@Michael J L I have tried several source linkers, and there were no issues. Can you try again today and report back if you are still having problems with the source linker. Thank you

I also had problems (last night). It happened specifically when my Person of Record was a child in the family and I to Change Person to one of the parents. The record would end up totally scrambled.

The only time I have had an issue with the "change person" option is when I'm attaching MyHeritage records. That option is not available with the MH experiment.

I am also seeing this misbehavior frequently. A page reload fixes the issue, but that is tedious to do almost every time you want to change the focus person.

I am having problems today in moving sources from the individual to whom they have been incorrectly attached and adding them to the relevant profile. As stated by @EarlMarshall if it isnt documented it didnt happen, a page reload solves the problem, but I am not able to directly attach to the profile for which I am entering the revised ID reference.
Process: (1) Review Attachment (from Sources section) (2) Detach source, providing reason statement (3) Paste or select ID from Find Your Family options.
First screenshot shows problem in question (no option to link to correct ID OR details being shown of attachments to others on record):
Refresh of page required to get to page needed to make attachment / see existing attachments details:

While inside of "Attach Historical Records to Family Tree" I'm trying to change the focus person so I can connect the record to extended family listed in said record. But when I try the "Change Person" link in the upper right of the focus person it doesn't always change to the person I'm trying to get to.

@RDAutrey
See this thread:0 -
I'm having the same issue.

I have requested some of the experts to review this issue and the secondary one brought up by Áine.ní.Donnghaile. Hopefully, we will have an answer soon.

Why not consolidate the multiple threads?

Thank you for escalating these issues: a quite simple solution to getting to the "Attach" links (reload the page), but must be confusing for inexperienced users in encountering the problem only over the last few days.
BTW - I can't get back to this page via my Notifications, getting this instead:
I assume the multiple thread consolidation (suggested by @Áine.ní.Donnghaile) is not the reason, as I got here quite easily via the Family Tree category.

This issue has been reported to the engineers, and they are actively working on a fix. We do not expect it to be long, but please be patient while they assess and mitigate the problem.

It looks like all the issues I was having have been fixed. Thank You!

I have been advised by the engineers that the problem should be fixed.

The issue persists when working from the MyHeritage Labs project.
The Source Linker presents the wrong generation of the family:Selecting the correct profile
Always results in an error

@Áine.ní.Donnghaile Thank you, I will report this. Is this the first time you've seen it with MyHeritage, or is it reocurring?

@shecorwe
If you look above, you'll see I also reported it on 30 April.
I've also asked when we will have a Feedback Group for the MyHeritage Labs project, with no reply so far.1 -
@Áine.ní.Donnghaile Sorry, maybe I misunderstood. The comment from on 4/30 appeared to be a general Source Linker issue, which has since been resolved. Is this new item confined to a MyHeritage issue, or is it part of the original general Source Linker problem? I do not have an answer about the MyHeritage Feedback group. It is being discussed.

@Áine.ní.Donnghaile I spent several minutes attaching sources from MyHeritage to FS and could not recreate your error. All of mine attached as expected. Can you keep monitoring and send me more clips if you see it again?

@shecorwe
I can give you dozens right now. It is almost always with birth records. When the hint is for the parent, rather than for the child, it is impossible to attach because the family presented by the source linker is the grandparents and the parent, rather than the parents and the child.1 -

@Áine.ní.Donnghaile Thank you, those are perfect examples. I will get this submitted for further review.

In other words, all the examples I was asked to provide were for naught.
