Memory tagging doesn't use latest person name in the tag
I found what I believe is a defect with memory tagging. When tagging a memory, the site is automatically creating the tag however it appears to be using the first name created for that person rather than the latest name for that person.
For example if the person was first created as: "May June" but later discovered that "June" was her married surname so the name was edited to "May August" as her birth name. When I tag a memory for that person, the person tagged shows the current name "May August" however the tag is created as "May June" and it cannot be edited. I deleted the tag and recreated it however the tag name still uses the first name from the history rather than the latest name. It seems like the tag name search is sorting the name history in the wrong order (ascending rather than descending) thus using the oldest name rather than the latest name.

Can you provide a snip or screenshot of the issue, please?

Memory tags have a name that is distinct from the name of the tree person that is attached to that tag. This creates some complexity and confusion. Once the name of the tag has been set, no changes made to the name of the attached tree person will have any effect.
It is possible to change the tag name, but it's a bit tricky. You can read about how to do that in this thread.

@Alan E. Brown
Thank you for the suggested work around. I tested it and it works. I would however like to see what I think is a defect, fixed so that the default behaviour works for everyone as I doubt many people would use the workaround. Making the system easy and simple for everyone is what increases usage of the system and improves accuracy of data. The workaround is a good option until the issue gets resolved. Thank you for the response.Marc.

Your concern is valid and has been addressed in the Memory Feedback Group.
The Memories tagging feature has had several problems lately, and the Engineers are working on ways to resolve them. We ask for patience in the meantime. Thanks!
Here is some additional information from our Engineers:
"There is no way to change the tag name right now. We are working on bringing this feature back, and on making it easier to find and use."
"The only time they should delete tags is if two different people were added to the SAME tag. So if I tagged myself but that tag includes my PID and my husband's PID. Then I have to delete all the corrupted tags and start again from scratch, because there's no other way to split the two people apart."
Again, sorry that there is currently no easy fix!
