All the IDs I modified today are shown as "Private Person"

All the IDs I modified today are showing as private on the home screen. I don't know if it has to do with the number of modification limitations.

They are all deceased and have visible documents. However, if I go into the ID's profile, there's no private person warning, as is

Error 1.png

he case with living individuals.

I've never seen a limitation on the number of modifications per user or per day.

I'm not asking your location, or where the people represented by those profiles were born or lived, but there are some location-based restrictions. Profiles in certain regions are restricted from viewing by the general public.

Huh. The same thing is happening to me. I hope it gets resolved.

All the people that are on my Recents list are displaying as Private Person today. This is for both the drop-down list of Recents and the full page version. It includes profiles that I have visited but not modified.

I've only checked this on my Android phone, but both Recents lists (the short list on the front screen and the long list accessed via the specific menu option) show every single entry as Private Person - some were last accessed a week or two ago.

I have no idea whether this Private Person phrase is meaningful - I can still access them but clearly have no idea if the system has forbidden other people from accessing them.

Nothing says anything about them being private on those profiles but I don't know what such a message would look like. I only know the message about Living, which appears on my own profile. Living is not the same as Private, of course, since deceased people can also be private.

I just hope that this is purely a cosmetic issue - it's liable to be confusing enough even if it is only cosmetic.

I've just successfully accessed one of my Recents (currently incorrectly marked Private, as everyone is seeing, from both the Recents list and the home page) from another account without difficulty, which I think says this is purely a user interface issue (though super confusing, as you say @Adrian Bruce1).

@Ashlee C. I would say this needed urgent escalation if the engineers are not aware, please.

@MandyShaw1 - thanks for checking from the different account.

"Super confusing" - I agree. There are those of us who will say, "Yeah? Really?" and those of us who will take it as the literal truth, fail to correct the issue and perhaps even start trying to "correct" the issue by creating new profiles for these people…

I had flagged this thread to the mods yesterday, FYI. With the weekend we may not see any change/fix for a few days.

I recall this happened a couple of years ago - all my recents and followings were private for a day or so.

Issue was reported Fri Aug 1, 2025 - I'm sure they're working on it as there are several threads for same problem —- don't worry and don't touch so FS engineers can do fix without volunteer help😉

@Sue Maxwell it has not been working hours in Utah all or nearly all of that time, so we would not expect it to have been fixed yet.
