Can't merge because of "valid IDs" error

I'm trying to merge two people (LV7W-ZZ6 and GSG7-DMJ) and am getting the following error: "Merge Warnings At least 1 of the 2 people cannot be found. Include valid IDs." Both of the people are valid IDs, and in fact I clicked the "possible duplicate" hint to get to the merge page. What's going on?

Yep. I am having the same problem. It just started today. Even the possible duplicates suggested by FamilySearch will not load. There must be some new glitch those smart tech guys will have to iron out, sooner than later.

Hopefully, they read these blogs and get the heads up that there is a problem. :)

There have been a few glitches lately with "not found" messages. Several times lately, when I tried to view the Fan, with myself as the root, I received a message that MY profile could not be found. The problem has usually cleared after a few minutes.

There is some glitch in the program that will no longer let you merge known duplicates.

I keep getting invalid ID messages. This just started happening today (8 July 2024)

This error is persistent, and I've tried loading the same merge (in both directions) multiple times over a period of time. It does not seem to be resolving itself.

I've now encountered it on another set of profiles, so something is definitely broken on the backend.

Yup, I've encountered it with several profiles now, and tried both using the hint and merging by ID - all appear to fail.
