hints on family tree
On my homepage, I get lots, and lots of wonderful hints for my ancestors, and related in the tree.
But, they are only hints for my maternal lines. I do find lots of hints for descendants on my paternal side, but I have to look for them. Why?
all the records for my ancestors come from www.openarch.nl

Record hints on the home page are for your ancestors, not your husband's ancestors. As you browse the Family Tree, you can see hints for anyone, even people not related to you. But the list of hints on the home page is focused on people who are related to you.

On my homepage, I get great hints for my ancestors on the maternal side of my family.
However, I don't ever get any hints for my husband's side of the family.
My husband's ancestors are from Germany, and France.
Most of the records for his ancestors come from Saarland, and Alsace-Lorraine.
I was wondering, why?

PLEASE contact me off this. I have ancestors in Saarland and in Lorraine portion of Alsace-Lorraine. (Lorraine is right south/west of Saarland).

Hello W. D. Samuelsen,
My husband's ancestors are from the towns around Saarlouis. Fraulautern, Roden, Saarwellingen, Lisdorf, and Ensdorf. His direct lines in Saarland are Hawner (Haffner), Ney, Speth, Bastong, Engel, and in France Bastogne (Baerendorf) Weiss (Alsting) and Thiel (Pontpierre). Do you see a connection? Looking forward to hearing from you, Best regards, M hawner

no, my folks are spread widely from Waldwisse, France east throughout what is now northern part of Merzig-Wadern district and south side of Trier-Saarburg, particular what was then Kr. Saarburg and centered around Britten.
