Discussions and notes not on app
Discussions and notes placed on a name on the Family Search Collaborate tab cannot be seen on the app.
It would be very helpful to me and to others who utilize the apps on our phones as well as personal and family search center computers.
A flag on the phone may be a possibility to alert everyone.
It would help me to know when any discussion or a note is available on any given name.
I place information there to help myself as well as others.
Thanks!
Jodie

Notes are at the bottom of the Details page after the Other Information Section:
But I don't see the discussions anywhere.

As I use a PC exclusively for my work in Family Tree, it appears I am being too harsh with criticisms of users who ignore my Discussions contributions. If my comments are hidden to those who use their mobiles, they are obviously of limited use - even to those who do support the collaboration ethos.
Surely, both Discussions and Notes need to be easily found when using the app? I agree this matter needs to be addressed.

I appreciate this thought about the notes showing up on the app. I did that last night and can now see those notes. Thank you for your comment.
I will utilize notes in the future instead of discussions

I, too, have been critical of others, not paying attention to my discussions. Utilizing the notes section and the discussion section will be part of my practices in the future.

I have been moving the Brief Life stuff to Notes. Also cleaning up the old collaboratives and discussions as needed. (purging the weird notes like gedcom and unrelated notes). Old discussions are locked even they have nothing to do with the family as well as the old discussions that are now non-revealant since the issues were resolved.
The Notes in new version is much better, because they are more visible unlike in previous version where the notes and discussions are hidden.

Thank you for your comments and ideas. I was just introduced to the new format today and there is a way to put a flag on a note so it alerts someone who might be doing work on the person. I noticed this in possible merges today.
thanks for sharing.
God Bless! Jodie

If something is truly a brief life history, then please don't move it to notes. In the new pedigree view, life history is visible, but notes and discussions are not.

Thank you for your comment! I agree about true life histories being left alone.

Discussions are hard to delete or move. Notes are easy visible in app, just scroll down the person's page.
Obituaries and Brief Life History are easy viewed in Notes section than in Life Story. Long obituaries and life stories should be in Memories.

W D Samuelsen contact me please I specifically said in the new pedigree view. Not app, not person page. Sources, memories and brief life history are the things you can access without going to the person page first. I utilize the brief life history quite a bit.

Gail,
you are going to find the notice telling you to move them to notes in new version. They disappear when stuff are moved to the notes.
I find notes in new version to be very friendly and easy to spot and read.

Thanks @Jodie Rindlisbacher for letting us know about the mobile app. We have sent this to a team that can review and address the situation. Maile 🙂
