This looks like a marriage or death record. In Italian records, it is understood that the child shares the surname of the father, so if a child's surname listed (e.g. as the bride/groom in a marriage record), then the father's surname will not generally be listed as it is understood it will be the same as the child's. The same is true on a death record.
Also, the word here is "calzolaio". The letter that looks like a "j" is called the "long i" in Italian orthography and is found in older records in certain vowel combinations, especially when the i is sandwiched between two other vowels. So you see "calzolajo" but it's actually calzolaio.
