Is there a way to archive old memories without having to click on each item separately?

Not that I am aware of, but selecting the List View option, rather than Grid View makes the individual memory selection easier.

TY! This whole new system they introduced has me pulling out my hair! I wish they would bring back the phone number as I always got an answer jiffy to any problem I encountered, which are rare. I have been trying to archive for days now and not being able to simply ask someone how to do it has really upset me.

There is a short cut to do archiving a little more efficient.
In your Gallery...when in Grid view (with thumbnails showing) select the first one you want to archive...then you can either:
- just select each one you want to archive. You should have all thumbnails then with the check mark that shows they have been selected
- or...if you want a lot and IN SEQUENTIAL order...just hold down the CTRL key on the keyboard and select the next one (way down the line) with the mouse. You should see a lot selected. This acts a lot like "SHIFT click" in File Explorer.
- Unfortunately the Memories engineers haven't given us a "CTRL ALL" capability

By the way
for what purpose do you use the ARCHIVE option.
I mean -- I don't see the point of it.
If I want to put an item in a special group - - I create an album and move the item to that album.
What do YOU perceive as the Reason behind "archiving" something.???
I can create my own MULTIPLE "archiving groups" (by just using ALBUMS) -- but why does it even need to be some special category status ???
they (albums) are all archives in a sense -- places where we are storing our memories.
what does the archive status give you -- that an album doesnt????

I have not been able to make the suggestion work that was suggested by Fluffy; but that would be a great idea!
Also, for Dennis's question, there are some memories in my gallery that I put into the Archive because they are not family members and/or others that I want to make an album for, so I dump these into the Archive so as to unclutter the My Memories staging area (actually, it appears that anything wanted out of the My Memories staging area must be archived, even after adding to an Album, so one knows it has been "handled").
Further, anytime a Memory Source is made the document or item goes to the My Memories staging area, so I place those in the Archive (or an Album, if desired) also.

understood - but they dont need to be "archived"
you could simply create an album entitled "NON FAMILY" and put those items there.
The point is you don't need to combine everything into ONLY one "archive" group
you can use albums to create as many groups s you want with no limit.
I see no need for the archive feature - the way everyone seems to be using it - it can be accomplished much better just by using new ALBUMS for the groups people want to archive

Just a note, based on the third line of instructions provided (above link), "Even if you add an item to an album - it will still show in your base gallery - again the gallery displays ALL of your uploads (except those deleted or archived)."
If one wants the "base gallery" uncluttered, any memory item placed in an album "does not need to be archived, but ALL of your uploads (except those deleted or archived) will remain in the base gallery. I have found it beneficial to unclutter the base gallery due to the number of memories added and the difficulty of managing new memories added from time to time.

I rarely ever use the base gallery.
ALL my items are in albums
I access those albums directly -- and when I add a new item I add it to an album FIRST.
Thus I rarely have a need to go to the base gallery and deal with is mix of all sorts of items. I avoid it all together,
and even with over 10,000 items in my gallery -- which can take a few minutes to dsiplay - I dont have to wait for that - I can go directly to any album of interest immediately.
