Surname decision

Hello, I would appreciate some guidance. In this document, only the name 'Joseph' is listed under Full Name of the Father. This can be either a given name or surname, and since the given name does not need to be indexed, I am not sure whether to put Joseph as the surname or mark the entry as 'blank'. My feeling is that Joseph is the given name, since the last name of the infant is 'Dionna', but not sure if I can make that judgement based on the project rules.

Thank you!

The Project Field Help for Surname mention '...if you cannot determine Surname enter the name in Given name field...' - which is not helpful since this Project appears to not have a Given name field for father/mother. So I would probably just index it as Joseph - since that is what is showing ... let the researcher decide I guess.

Cyndi, that's a generic field help and since there is no field for the given name, you would Blank the father's surname field.
