Why is an ancestor that shows up on my father's view of the tree, not showing up on mine?
My view of the tree shows that one of my great grandmothers on my father's side is not attached. It's attached for my father, though, and when I open my great grandfather's profile, his wife is attached to him and set to "preferred". Does anyone know how to correct this? I can't see her branch of the tree at all.
Edit:
Great Grandfather: KV2Q-R12
Great Grandmother: 9KM6-3JH

Hello @K. Larsen
I think this is happening . . .
On the record for your grandmother Victoria Rae Nelles in the Family Members section, I think Victoria will be shown as a daughter of her father and her mother, and then below that Victoria will be listed as a child of just Harold (with no mother). The relationship of Victoria to her father with no mother will have the preferred ticked.
Because Victoria is already listed as a child of her father and mother, you can remove Victoria from being a child of Harold with the no mother.
To do that - Where Victoria is with Harold with no mother, click on the small pencil on the right of the box - this is the Edit. Then next to Harold's name there will be a Remove or Replace. Choose Remove or Replace and then go ahead with removing Harold. This will just remove Victoria from the relationship to Harold and the no mother.
Hopefully then your Tree View will show correctly. If it doesn't, then please show us a screen shot.
best wishes

It would be easier for someone to help if you could share the PID number of the deceased individuals.

@Áine Ní Donnghaile Thank you, I edited the question to include both ID numbers

By tree, do you mean the Pedigree aka ancestor tree view? That tool shows only a single set of parents. Check which wife is set to "preferred" when you view your great grandfather's profile.
Alternatively, view the ancestor tree in Puzzilla, a FamilySearch partner website. Puzzilla will show all "parents"; this is to help you debug the tree.

@dontiknowyou No, this is the main FamilySearch tree that extends from me.
When my dad opens the tree in FamilySearch that spot is filled, but it's not in mine. And the site won't let me attach his spouse because she's already attached to him. The only place the relationship won't show up is on my tree.

Have you refreshed the page in your browser?

@dontiknowyou Yes. Several times. If it helps, I know she's only been dead since 2001.

That doesn't matter.
Well, in the tree viewer I can see her there, and her parents etc. So, long shot, quit and relaunch your browser. If that doesn't help, next also reboot your computer.
Standard advice here includes deleting all browser cookies but I find that extreme and usually no help.
Another thing you can do, although it is only a work-around, is try a different browser. Safari instead of Internet Explorer, etc.

@dontiknowyou I'll keep poking around and trying things, sure.
I also know that when I open his profile, it shows two relationships albeit one lacks a spouse? I don't know how to get rid of that either.

I am not seeing that. Nor do I see evidence of it in the change logs. If any mod sees this: please escalate to the engineers.
(How to get rid of an unwanted relationship: on the profile Display page, look for the edit icon beside the person's name in connection with the bad relationship. Use that to delete the relationship.)

@Western Detective consider this:
Since I and OP's dad (and others?) can see 9KM6-3JH attached to KV2Q-R12 but OP cannot, that duplicate link is not the OP's problem.

Yes, I also see the couple 9KM6-3JH and KV2Q-R12 attached to each other, with a single deceased child listed.
From the OP's screenshot, there are living children. We will be unable to see them because they are living, and the issue may lie within connections to the living.

The image has been edited to remove the names of the living people from the family tree.

@K. Larsen I believe this issue is happening because there are living people involved as Áine stated . You only see living people you have added. So your father can see the living person married to Larry George Larsen but you can't. What you need to do is manually add the spouse of Larry George Larsen and then you can search for her parents, Harold Nickolas Nelles - KV2Q-R12 and Jacqueline Goodin - 9KM6-3JH. Then you will see that line. Hope this helps!
Sam 😊

@dontiknowyou and @Áine Ní Donnghaile
Would it not help if the guest unticked the preferred father with no spouse if they have the father showing twice.
Does that make sense, because only LF95-XV9 is showing as a child with KV2Q-R12 as the Father and the other entry the wife shows with two children LF95-XV9 being one of them.

Ah! I think @Sam Sulser has put a finger on the problem. The living wife of Larry George Larsen, let's call her Jane Doe, is attached only to her father KV2Q-R12, not to her father and mother 9KM6-3JH. This is the profile of Jane Doe that exists only in @K. Larsen's private tree space.
Of course, @K. Larsen's father is looking at a separate, duplicate profile of Jane Doe that exists only in his private tree space. His profile of Jane Doe is correctly attached to both her parents.

OP has the relationship of father with the no mother as the preferred relationship. If the guest makes the other relationship the preferred relationship, then the Tree will show correctly.
But then the guest will still have Larry as the son of Harry and the mother, and another relationship of Larry as the son of Harry and the no mother. Note that K.Larsen said "I also know that when I open his profile, it shows two relationships albeit one lacks a spouse? I don't know how to get rid of that either."
Choices are to change the preferred relationship. Or remove the extra relationship.

Yes.
We've already outlined how to do either correction.

Thank you everyone for your help! The problem Did in fact lie in the profile of my still living grandmother. She had two different parent relationships, one with both parents, and the one with just her father was checked as preferred for her. I have edited that and fixed the problem! :>
