Suggestion for engineers re: transcription issue entry
Please don't have "Not Readable" as a default button that is already checked. This means having to uncheck that button and check the correct one every time, so uncheck, move cursor to right one, check different box. It wastes time.
So far, the vast majority of transcription errors that I have corrected were the "not a name" variety anyway. If that proves to be the case in many parts of the census, it seems like having a "Not a Name" button next to the Match/Edit/Not Sure buttons would be most efficient. One click vs four clicks, over and over and over and over....
Thank you!

Currently, when Clicking on the "Transcription Error" the 'top' item, "Not Readable" is ALWAYS checked. It appears the most common "Error" found needs to have it changed to "Not a Name" (for Vacant or Not at Home or. . . similar 'errors' ).
To avoid multi-thousands of extra clicks throughout this indexing project, it would be helpful to DELETE the "Not Readable" checked box.
Currently, I've done so many of these, I am now simply leaving the default box checked and add the correct one.
(Addendum: after verifying some more, I'll change my suggestion to: PLEASE CHANGE THE DEFAULT TO "Not a Name" - instead of "not readable." Thereby saving even more required clicks!!!!!
Transcription Error Choices:
Not Readable
Blank
Crossed Out
Incomplete
Not a Name

So happy to come back today and see that there is now a Not A Name button right next to the other buttons at the bottom of each page. Such a wonderful improvement!
