Birth/Baptism Records for Newent or Maisemore Gloucestershire circa 1760 - 1780.
Have been researching family of Biscoe/Bisco/Bisko of Maisemore and Newent, Gloucestshire England. Have been unable to find indexes for 1760 - 1780. Have been looking for a Benjamin Biscoe whose death in 1843 in Newent says birth approx 1762.
There seems to be a generation missing for this area.
Look forward to your advice or where I might locate these indexes.

Eagerbega.

I am able to find records for Newent in that time period without a problem. However, I see no Briscoes (or variants) in that time period. However, I too have a problem with Maisemore. There appears to be a gap between 1718 and 1805 in the transcripts. The images of the Bishops Transcripts for that period are available
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-CSN2-99MZ-L?mode=g&cat=317333
so why the transcripts are not there too defeats me!
I did try FindMyPast. The Gloucestershire baptisms do not appear to include Maisemore but the Britain Parish records set does (again, don't ask me why!). But this does not produce a result for Benjamin Briscoe.

Hi Graham, thanks for the information. The name is Biscoe, sometimes Bisco or Bikso. Regarding Maisemore Parish there are some entries included on the 'Forest of Dean Family History' site. Has a lot of Parishes from that area. I found my Robbins/Biscoe connection there. But took sometime to link with DNA.

FreeREG website has some records for Maisemore for the 18th century (only marriages from 1777-1799 for BISCOE, however). Try this link and then try to revise your searches to include other parishes in the county and/or variants of the surname.

Try https://www.freereg.org.uk/search_queries/62177b83791e3b170beb786e?locale=en to include what FreeREG considers variants.
I just had a quick look and found quite a few instances of the BRISCOE surname - notably at Corse and Tirley parishes. I don't know the extent of FreeREG coverage of Gloucestershire records, but Newent parish does not appear to have any records included. For BISCOE there are only six marriages included for the whole of the 18th century, but nothing at all found for BISKO.

Thank you Paul had a look, I would think some of the Biscoe's listed would be related. Will widen the search.

Hi Graham,
Had a look at the film. The record is not in very good condition around the timeline I am after, but it does show the records I already have from Ancestry. Will have to widen the search. Have 3 DNA links to Biscoe, but we cannot establish how we relate, as I am coming down a different line and they (all relate to each other) cannot find the ancestor that links us. Something will turn up.
