Is there anyway to leave feedback for indexers?

If there isn't, who do I need to talk to? I arbitrate and have run into many many many people that don't know about the feature that lets you see the previous 10 pages and the next 10 pages.

I realize direct communication could get ugly fast because this is the internet, but maybe we could contact a third party person to talk to them? This issue specifically causes so much extra work for everyone and it's such an easy thing to fix.

    There is currently no option for direct feedback from Reviewer to Indexer. I and others would like such a feature, including perhaps feedback from Indexer to Reviewer. I have suggested "piloting" it with willing Indexers and Reviewers. See the conversation at the link I posted above.

    There is an option for indirect feedback (via FS Support) from Reviewer to Indexer if the Indexer has made such a terrible mess of a batch that it needs essentially complete or significant reindexing - either with malice or because of lack of attention or training. In that case, the Reviewer can invoke/activate the Labs option (Help>Labs) to send the batch back for "reindexing with Reasons to Reindex Batch." A longer form appears than when a Reviewer clicks Batch>Reindex Batch. The Labs form is below:

    In the Help (menu)> Labs - you can enable Reasons to Reindex Batch

    then refresh the browser page and go back to the Batch menu and choose Reindex Batch and give a reason.

    View the example to get an idea of Reasons you can include - or whether you 'keep the index data' or not.

    As far as educating Indexers on Reference Images - the Web Indexing app does have an email option. If Familysearch wants to give feedback or education on features - this allows information to be sent (from Familysearch) to indexers.

    Hi @lisamariekonopinski1

    You may want to support the "Idea" I've linked to below by up-voting it:

    But, does the original indexer get the batch back to re-index, or does it go to a general pool so the indexer doesn't really get any feedback?

    The above reindexing suggestion would only work if the original indexer gets the batch.

    @Read Gilgen

    Familysearch has the responsibility of any indexer feedback using this feature. No - the batch would/is not sent directly to the original indexer with feedback - it just goes into a pool that excludes the original indexer I believe (not 100% sure - maybe 80%).

    This system doesn't provide much feedback to the original indexer - but could depending on the reason selected. The lack of opportunity to reindex by the original indexer doesn't mean the index doesn't get completed - it just extends the cycle/time required for that batch to get indexed. If reindex is selected - my understanding is that it goes to the end of the pool.

    @Jerry Hill

    Advocates a system that allows feedback/action on malicious indexers - but which does not return the batch for reindex. He just goes ahead and makes all corrections so as to not delay completion of that batch. I can see how that option would be desirable - but either way - the Index will get completed.

    @John Empoliti I returned a batch to re index, but the only option was to keep the indexed data or delete the indexed data. Is that something that FamilySearch has done away with?

    @John Empoliti Never mind, I figured it out! Thank you so much, the labs options were exactly what I was looking for.
