If a record shows "image unavailable", is it possible to request a copy of the image?
I have found the following record :
Ireland Births and Baptisms, 1620-1881", database, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:F5XJ-SX8 : 15 February 2020), Mary Leahey, .
Document Information
Source Details 2:1170WJR Digital Folder Number 007718820 Microfilm Number 101164 Originating System VR Indexing BatchC70135-5
Collection Information
Ireland Births and Baptisms, 1620-1881
An image of the record is unavailable.
I have accessed the Baptism records for the relevant parish and date but the Baptism is not in the registery book.
Given the information above, is it possible for me to get an image of the Baptism Registery entry?

Not sure I understand your question - the catalog shows the volume and year for all the films in that series. I posted a snip of the one film 101164 in my earlier comment
There are 11 pages in the catalog for that record set. Each shows the year.
Edit 4th try to add the image - the site seems to be having issues today.

The Irish civil births, marriages, and deaths are available online on the Irish government website. https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/civil-search.jsp
Mary's birth is on this page, #442: https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/birth_returns/births_1868/03448/2265758.pdf
You will be asked to log in and possibly solve a captcha to prove you are not a bot, but the site does not keep your information or even require an email address or password.

Hello Áine,
Thank you for your answer - the link you sent certainly is the record I was looking for.
I am curious as to how you found it? I use that website regularly, but when I enter a search with these parameters :
Mary Leahy - 1867 to 1867 - Birth - I get one hit in Kinsale - which takes me here :
which is incorrect.
Is this a problem with the search algorithm, or should I modify my search parameters?

No problem with the search mechanism on irishgenealogy.ie. The birth was registered in 1868. The film number you listed in your query is for Vol 5 of the 1868 birth registrations.

Hello Áine,
Thanks again - I have only ever come across that issue of born one year, registered in the next, in cases where the person was born very late in the year.
Is there some means of correlating the film number to a Volume number & year of registration?

In answer to this question, if you were not able to find a record on another site, FamilySearch does have a lookup service. Here is a link: https://www.familysearch.org/family-history-library/family-history-library-records-look-up-service

Which I would have said had it been necessary. Maybe your energy would be better spent reporting that images won't post to someone who can fix the many problems.

Perhaps this article will help to clarify the status of the films on FamilySearch: Why is no camera icon showing for a digitized microfilm in the catalog?
