"This Record Has Been Removed" and "410 - Record removed" issue for select members of a family
I just came across an issue where, over the course of a few days, several individual records (or data entries?) on one sheet of the 1900 US census were removed. The head of household's record still exists there but records or data entries of the wife and children are missing. When I click on a link to the source that is for the head of household, the record details screen comes up. When I click on a link to the source that is for the wife's record (a link that worked fine a week ago), I get a page that says "This Record Has Been Removed." In the source list on that individual's details page, there is red text saying "!410 - Record removed."
I can still use the source since I can see the original image, but this means it isn't searchable for people looking for those individuals. It seems that all the other people's records on that census sheet have records with the exception of the last few on the sheet (the people I've mentioned) and the first person on the next sheet (which is the final child in the entry for the household I am interested in). I was at first concerned that I had done something during my research (and some edits to the records such as dates, name spellings) but I can find evidence of changes I've made to the one existing record. I can't find anything (revision history, activity log, etc.) that indicates I could have deleted an entire entry in an indexed record.

@curtisrands1, thank you for reporting this problem with the 1900 United States Census. We have recently seen this type of problem in other of our census records. Although I do not know the reason that the system is acting as it is, I do notice that the Edit option had been used previously to modify the Event Date of the index record.
We will need to share this issue with a specialized team for review and resolution. I will take care of doing that.

Yes - I had edited the Event date on the index record (changed it from 1900 to the specific date of collection since I was trying to figure out the subject's correct birth year using several sources together, including multiple census years and I wanted to see what months the censuses were taken. I think that only edited it for the specific record I was using (John Minton) because the highlighting that I added shows up when I select his name on the list below the document image view but not when I select it for others.

I can speak to your ultimate goal here. I used to do the kinds of calculations you are doing to refine birth dates. I learned in the process that census enumerators did not consistently follow the rules. For each census that recorded ages, there was an official enumeration date; enumerators were supposed to record ages "as of" that date not the date of data collection. But working out the age of someone at some time in the past is very mentally fatiguing, and may have been beyond the enumerator's ability even when rested. This task was especially a challenge when the census rules included recording an infant's age in months. Also, the official date was not the same in every census.
So, I no longer sweat that detail. I have since learned that is the best approach in almost all cases. Very often, an historical record will turn up later that has the exact date.

I discovered the issue and think it's a bug. I had edited the dates of this and one other census. The original dates of the records were just "1900" and "1920" respectively. I had edited the census sheet indexed date to reflect the day/month/year as it shows on the sheet for both of these census records. For some reason, when I did that, it removed the data entries for all the other household members just on that one record. Tonight I went back in and completely removed my edits to the date on these two sheets and the other household records reappeared! The strange thing is that there is a third census sheet (from 1910) that I also edited the date that did not exhibit this behavior. Anyway, seems like it should be reported but I don't really know where.

Is this problem going to be fixed in the database, or do we have to individually edit the date of every record that has been removed?

I've had problems with linking every. single. US census issue for the past 1-2 months. It's a bug. Only Tech Support can solve this. It happens on both my Win10 computer with Chrome browser and my iPad Pro in the Safari browser. It's not our devices, operating systems, or browsers. It's a bug that slipped in when the tech support folks put out their last update.
The question is, are they aware? Family Search eliminated the email contact support where we could report bugs. I used to report iPad/Family Search compatibility issues after iOS updates and the support staff would forward the emails to Tech Support.

They are certainly aware of the 1900 census problems, but you need to report any other specific problems separately.

I'm wondering the same thing. In the meantime, I have just located the 1900 census on Ancestry.com and attached that version using Record Seek. Of course, Record Seek requires that you attach the census record separately to each individual. It's tedious when an entire family is involved.
Also, since the record has been removed, why does it still show up as a hint? That's annoying.
Is this due to repairing a corrupted file? Will the 1900 census links be restored?

I've run across dozens of "removed" 1900 census records. In all cases, one can do a search and find a replacement record. One can then add the new one to the profile. (The new citation text is significantly shorter than the old text.) I have been detaching the old removed record but then I find that often I need to mark it as Not A Match in the hints (sometimes it is not a close-enough match to show up).

I haven't run into this for a while, so maybe it has been fixed. But now the 1940 census records are showing up without a citation.

The record is still on the site, do we need to start saving these ourselves, is ancestry buying up the rights to all the records in the US to sell them?

@donmthomas issue above: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:S3HT-69G9-948?view=index&groupId=TH-266-11752-25470-42 contains the new image index which allows you to Add (button) family group/line records to 1900 Census.
This will allow recreating/reattaching of the record to the person Sources.
@KathleenHuish The same goes for the Lumm family at your bottom link above. Just recreate the index by adding the family members back. I recommend attaching the Spouse relationship before the parent relationships. If you run into difficulty I would expect there is/will be a Help Center/Blog article about the new edit every field index/image app - I haven't looked for it. I suspect whatever processes were going on in the background to migrate the old index to the new may have caused some problems with indexes along the way (but I don't know for sure what has been causing the problems or possible corruption).
