When trying to create a FamilySearch account, I am told I already have one. Can you please help me?
Oh, that happens. If it has been a bit of time since you signed in last.
You can search your saved papers for your old username and password. If you can't find one of them, sign onto FamilySearch.org and select "forgot password or forgot username".
Then go through the process of resetting your password, or retrieving your username. If your email and/or cell phone are different now from the ones you put on your account, you can call FamilySearch.org support. 866-406183. Select Registration/Accounts. And listen to some music until a missionary answers.
Were you able to connect to your FamilySearch account?
You may create more than one non -LDS account, preferably using a different recovery option, (email or cell number).
When , as you try to create a new account you get the message you already have an account, then the best practice is to gain access to your old account, else you will lose any information you have for living.
You can only have one LDS member account. If you discover you have both a member and non-member account, and you only one account , the best practice is to get into each account to determine which you want to keep, then delete the other account. How do I delete my FamilySearch Account?
If you do not remember your recovery option for each account, you may need to contact Family Search Support. If you remember your User name, then go to Familysearch.org, and use the forgot user name or password option.. I forgot my FamilySearch password or username
If you discover your non-member account is the one you want to keep, you may convert your non-member account to a member account --after -you delete your member account. *Be aware*that deleting an LDS account also deletes *Everything * on a Temple List.
That has happened to me as well. I was "locked out" and when I called the number Anitra mentioned (866-406183) they were able to send me to tech support and they were able to unlock my account.
