Microfilm Readers

Hello! My name is Steve Thompson. My wife and I are new FHC directors in Kyle, Texas. I have a question about microfilm readers. We have two large ones in our FHC, and neither works very well. Do microfilm readers still play a role in the FHC? My wife has volunteered in the FHC for 2 years prior to covid and she has never seen anyone use them. Can we get rid of them? What is the process?

Thanks!

On the "FHC Tech Support Group" community there are lots of microfilm articles on the Quick Links Item #3

    https://www.familysearch.org/help/helpcenter/article/how-do-family-history-centers-get-and-use-microfilm-merchandise-return-labels

. There is a very specific procedure to follow for returning the films, including having the correct free mailers. Please look at them all and do call in for advice.
