Name of Wife's Father listed as Place of Marriage ?
Hello, I am indexing Marriages from 1868 Virginia, Tazewell county. On one entry, instead of the city or the county of the marriage listed in the Place column, it has the name of the Bride's 1st parent. Do I go ahead and list the parent's name as the place of the marriage? Or mark it in some other way, such as blank? I think I am supposed to type the entry exactly as it appears on the record, even though it is obviously not a city or county, but the parent.
Here is the link to share the batch.
I opened this batch and found it was already filled out for the most part. I am going through and finishing it, and fixing some of the entries. But I am unsure on how to enter this a name of a person in a place column.
Thank you for your help.

Hi the instructions for the place field states:
If the marriage place was not clearly indicated as city or county, please index the place in the county field. Do not index places of residence, churches, stores, or other localities in this field.
If the county was not recorded or was written as a variation of the word "unknown," press Ctrl+B to mark this field blank.
hope that helps

There are quite a few on this batch that I would not index in the Marriage City or county field. The homes of the parents, of course, but then also Head of Clinch, Mouth Indian, Turnpike are questionable. If you do index the Clinch and Indian you can leave out the modifiers based on the General Indexing Guidelines for places:
- "Do not include identifying descriptions or terms, such as “near,” “about,” “around,” “twp,” “township,” “city,” “county,” or “state,” with the place-name unless the term is normally used as part of the name (for example, Mexico City, Salt Lake City, or New York City)
The Head of Clinch is the beginning of the Clinch River (more a location than a town). There is a town in Tazewell County called Indian, but, Mouth Indian may be the mouth of the Indian Creek.
