Remodel
Hello. I hope I am posting this question to the correct group. I am the director of my local FHC and we are planning some updates to make our center more inviting. It is quite outdated! We'd like to get a new temple photo, a nice print of the Savior, and some old historical photos of our town for the walls. Our FHC is in our stake center and the stake presidency has approved these ideas. However, do we also need to get approval from FamilySearch? I'm just wondering what the proper protocol is on updating artwork and such. I spoke to the FM manager and he told me to check with FamilySearch.
Thank you for any assistance on this matter.

All maintenance of family history centers is delegated to local authorities. So if Stake has approved the changes, there is no need to request permission from FamilySearch. This article shows who is involved in the process.

The stake temple and family history consultant—family history center should coordinate with staff to clean the center on a regular basis.
Maintain the room, furnishings, and equipment to the same standards as the meetinghouse. At the beginning of the year, meet with the high councilor, stake physical facilities representative, and local facilities manager to discuss any needs. The facilities manager can then incorporate requests as part of the annual meetinghouse or family history budget plan.
Work with the local facilities manager to maintain the furnishings, equipment, and resources.
Replace and dispose of broken furnishings or equipment. Remove surplus furnishings or equipment you no longer need. If the equipment is still usable, contact the high councilor to see if another center in the stake could use the item. Otherwise, work with local priesthood leaders and the local facilities manager to dispose of broken or unneeded items.

This is a genealogy art offered in the online store that might be nice under "Art."
There used to be a series of family history poster to purchase for FHCs. The church site has changed, and I can't find them now. I wonder if they are no longer available, or available at BYU Press.
