The Lakes West Virginia. USA
Anyone expert on West Virginia.
Tracing family whose present day looks ( two sisters) are predominantly .Native American or Asian. High cheek bones...elongated eyes. Strong suspicion of Cherokee.
But DNA shows 45% English and 42% French and amazingly sit almost at the top of the Neanderthal Register.
Photos of their Grandfather and his sister show this very Asian or Native A look and it also shows in a photo of their Grandfather and WIFE (that look) = Nimrod Evans Lake b 1833 and Sarah Given Gregory. Photo on Ancestry.
Both the sisters have dug Cherokee shelters where they were born..
Holly River...Hacker Valley area so we are certain they were there. No reservations in WV.
Spent a lot of time on it but really difficult.
