How to request the creation of an indexing project?
I would like to create a project to index the records of "Brazil, Minas Gerais, Catholic Church Records, 1706-1999", mainly from the cities of Montes Claros, Boicaiúva, Coração de Jesus and nearby cities.
Today we have a group that studies and catalogs several of these records, but all offline. If indexing were enabled by FamilySearch, it would make our lives easier and we could help other investigators interested in the region's records.

Hi Pedro,
Currently, there are two projects of Brasil, Minas for indexing in Find a batch.
You may create a group and becoming a group administrator can adopt this projects, you could also invite people to join your group to index these projects.
In your web indexing page go to Groups, on the right side icon click on Find groups, to click create group with the option to make it open for people to join the group- or you can send invitation to your members to join the group.
The new web Indexing required to be online, the previous indexing system allowed you to index while been off line.
On the other hand FamilySearch cannot accept requests to index-specific collections.
- FamilySearch does not have legal permission to publish indexes or images.
- FamilySearch lacks access to some scanned images.
- Volunteer resources are limited.
Hope this answer your question.

Unfortunately, the solution will be to keep indexing parallel to FamilySearch and inaccessible.
I suggest FamilySearch review its indexing policy. It would be much more productive to allow indexing as researchers read documents and people being identified.
In São Paulo/Brazil, there are at least 2 groups that maintain an indexing parallel to the FS, as they are unable to index the documents they study.
People spend many hours reading records and taking notes for their research.
