New Groups
How are the GROUPS in the GROUPS section maintained ??
i.e.
WHO determines what NEW groups can be created - and who takes the role as GROUP ADMIN?
What about Groups that have become stale and virtually dead - can they be removed?

@Dennis J Yancey This is an old post. We are trying to be sure that old posts that never got a response are answered. Perhaps you have gotten an answer through other avenues. FamilySearch Community is still a work in progress. As far as I know, decisions have not been made yeat as to creating new groups or how to decide when to remove groups that no longer function. Every group has at least one administrator. For some, the administrator is also the group creator. Others have assigned administrators from among the folks who have assignments to work in Community. Hopefully, over time, things will become a little more stable and management of the groups will get a bigger focus.

Yes I am aware that the groups area is being looked into for ways to improve.
hopefully those improvements will not be forever in coming.
Yes each group has an assigned administrator/creator
but I think you will find that a very large portion are no longer even active.
and there are various groups that really should just be deactivated since they no longer serve a real purpose any more.
