    Good morning Heather.

One question to guide on answering your questions..

Is your Grandfather Living? or you have not entered a date for his death?

I doubt the 'View My Relationship' will work for those people who are designated as still living.

    @Heather Jaggers

    Heather

    Welcome to the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum.

    I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...

As has already been proffered, the status of whether your Granddaughter is still "Living", is important ...

    But ...

    That Said ...

    For starters ...

Before actually really addressing the status regarding "Living" ...

Please be aware, that for two (x2) Users/Patrons, with their own respective 'FamilySearch' Accounts, who are (of course) "Living", BOTH of them (ie. parties) MUST have that their respective "Relationship Viewing" ENABLED. (ie. BOTH, Not just ONE).

    Now ...

    That Said ...

Provided, that BOTH, you; and, your Granddaughter, have your respective "Relationship Viewing" ENABLED, in your respective 'FamilySearch' Accounts ...

The other, underlying issue, is that, there MUST be, an actual link/connection, between, you and your Granddaughter, existing in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch', for such to actually work.

I am not referring to a perceived link/connection.

I am referring to an ACTUAL link/connection link/connection.

As, what you also have to remember, is that, there CAN be MULTIPLE "Living" DUPLICATES of an individual/person in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'; but, they are NOT necessarily, the ACTUAL "Living" User/patron who has their own 'FamilySearch' Account.

For example, I know that there ARE ("Living") "Duplicates" of the "Living" ME - at least, one for my Wife and each of our Children, not to mention my other ("Living") extended Family members.

But (Luckily ...), there is ONLY, just, ONE ("Nonduplicate") of the "Living" ME; and, ONLY that ("Nonduplicate") of the "Living" ME, will work, with "Relationship Viewing", when ENABLED.

    Therefore ...

So, please ensure that the VERSION of your "Living" Granddaughter that you are trying to 'see' the "Relationship", is that of the ("Nonduplicate") of your "Living" Granddaughter, in her 'FamilySearch' Account.

    And ...

IF, your "Living" Granddaughter, DOES NOT, actually have a (ie. her own), 'FamilySearch' Account; THEN, that "Relationship Viewing", will NOT produce a positive result.

    ie.

Here is a "Knowledge Article" in 'FamilySearch':

Relationship Viewing: How do I turn on or off the option to view my relationship to other users?

    I hope this helps, somewhat.
