NY Naturalizations list, record number and date possibilities?

The list includes names on the certificate, date it was sent to the district attorney and date of the certificate, place; plus other columns that will not be indexed. If I understand instructions right, I would use the latest date. The only number that seems like it is a record number is in the "remarks" column.

Am I understanding this correctly?

You may get some differing opinions on this. I suggest you ignore these numbers since we do not know for sure what they refer to. Numbers of immigration records are not a searchable term at familysearch.org, so if the numbers actually do refer to another document (which we can't see), it would be a non-critical error to omit them.

It would be impossible to answer the question with seeing the batch. To share your batch, please provide the batch code which is the series of letters and numbers that follow the title.

For example: US, New York—Naturalization Records, 1820–1991 [Part B] [M3HV-6X6]

[M3HV-6X6] is my "batch code" for the batch I am working on.

Thanks for sharing the batch, Judith. This batch includes two Declaration of Intention documents. You should index them exactly as they are shown in the example from the project instructions. The project instructions can always be opened by clicking on the last icon in the horizontal toolbar, or by clicking on Help and Project instructions.

I don't think is the batch you wanted to share though, as there is no "Remarks" Column.

Thank you for providing the Batch Code.

The "How to Index" example found in the What to Index section of the Project Instructions contains a document that is exactly the same as the document found in this batch. You can use the guidance from that example to find the answers to your questions -- including where the date is found.
