Struggling a access documents at affiliate library
Hi,
Went this morning to the National Archives UK (which is an affiliate library) and I can't seem access these records (Attached). Each time I click on them I get the pop up "Please go to a family history center" Quite unfortunate since all of these are closed in the UK.
Any explanation as to why these are restricted, even in affiliate libraries?
Cheers,

Hello @GuillaumeBoehm1,
Thank you for contacting the Community about not being able to access FamilySearch records at the National Archives UK. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Affiliate libraries have some limitations and may not have all the services of a family history center. There may be some FamilySearch Historical Records collections that will not be available.
Also, FamilySearch is currently working to upgrade the Family History Center Portal. Records that can only be accessed there are unavailable for the time being. Once your centers are open again, be sure to call ahead to see if everything is available to see.
Best Wishes!

Hello @GuillaumeBoehm1
Thank you for posting your question regarding access restrictions on FamilySearch Historical Records. Access restrictions usually come from the organization who owns or manages the historical records. These restrictions determine where and how FamilySearch can make the records available. We do our best to support these agreements so that we can maintain the trust of those we partner with and continue to work with them on future projects. To learn more about record restrictions, we invite you to read through the following article found in the FamilySearch Help Center.
Why are there access restrictions on Historical Records?
When looking at your specific Kirchenbuch records, we found that the records were restricted to viewing only at a family history center. Therefore, they are not available at an affiliate library. To learn more about the various image restrictions, please visit the following article found in the Help Center.
What are the image restrictions in Historical Records?
It is unfortunate that some family history centers are still closed, which limits our access to these restricted records at this time.
If you have a specific item that you believe is available on that particular film, you may be interested in the look-up service currently being offered through the Family History Library. You can learn more about that service by clicking on the following link. The introduction just mentions a look-up service for books, but they also provide a look-up service for films.
Family History Library Record Lookup Service
We hope that the above information will explain the reason why you were not able to access the restricted records at an affiliate library and will also provide you with a possible option to get information from that film while the family history centers in your area are closed.

@GuillaumeBoehm1 , access to most German Lutheran records are tightly restricted. For the vast majority, you have to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. This is in fact the first set of Lutheran records that I've come across that are accessible to non-LDS members. The reason for the restrictions is that there are Lutheran records at both Ancestry.com and Archion.de. Both are subscription sites and Archion in particular would be out of business if people knew they could get the records for free from FamilySearch. FS has therefore negotiated a compromise- Latter Day Saints/Mormons get free access, everyone else has to subscribe.
