Why can’t I correct relationships that others have tacked onto my ancestor?
I am getting SO FRUSTRATED to keep finding that someone(s) keep high jacking my ancestors and claiming him/her as theirs and putting incorrect children, parents, spouses with mine! I have copies of my sources to verify that these other additions are wrong but I cannot delete these people. This is why I much prefer Ancestry!!! Why can’t I challenge incorrect information without having numerous roadblocks to navigate only to find out there is nothing I can do?

Welcome to the "Community.Fa,ilySearch" Forum.
I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...
You are not alone ...
Most of us have ... been there, done that ... and, still do ...
You DO NOT, have to "Challenge", any "Changes", done by OTHER Users/Patrons; especially, where, those "Changes" are 'wayward'.
You just have to, get on; and, address/fix them.
Short Answer:
Technically there is no way to STOP another User/Patron working along the SAME 'Ancestral" Lines.
[ Especially, if the OTHER Users/Patrons, ARE related, to those "Ancestral" Lines, just like you ... ]
But ...
That Said ...
There are some, actions that one can take; and, options available ...
Here is a "Knowledge Articles" in 'FamilySearch', that somewhat addresses your 'Question':
How can I prevent other people from making inaccurate changes to Family Tree?
Now ...
After that ...
As you can 'see', "Collaboration" needs to be undertaken.
But, when "Collaboration" FAILS; and, provided that there is NO "Abuse" ...
This "Knowledge Article" in 'FamilySearch' of:
How do I report changes or problems made by other contributors?
comes to the fore ...
In particularly, the last sentence in that "Knowledge Article"; which, is very IMPORTANT:
Quote
------------------
If you have questions regarding inadvertent, suspicious or potentially malicious errors in records that you are unable to resolve per the instructions above, contact FamilySearch Support.
------------------
Now ...
All that Said ...
IF, you have undertaken "Collaboration" with the particular User/Patron in question, causing concern; and, that "Collaboration" has FAILED; and, provided that there is NO "Abuse"; THEN, advise of such in HERE in THIS post of yours; and, HOPEFULLY, the "Moderators" [ie. 'FamilySearch' "Support" (Personnel)] HERE in this "Community.FamilySearch" Forum, can TAKE this MATTER directly into the workings of 'FamilySearch' "Support", to help/assist you.
Plus, you DO NOT need to provide specific "Details" [ eg. 'FamilySearch Identifiers (PIDs) ] of the individuals/person in "Family Tree: of 'FamilySearch' concerned, Just a 'precis' of the matter; and, requesting the matter be dealt with, through DIRECT "Private" communications, between, yourself; and, 'FamilySearch' "Support" (Personnel). BEFORE, other 'well meaning' Users/Patrons get involved.
I hope this helps.
Brett
ps: Whereas, if "Abuse" is concerned, that is a different matter; and, is handled differently.
