Table entry mode - record number on left of indexing page

I was recently indexing a batch of naturalization records. The page had 45 records. I decided to make entries using the "Table Entry" mode. About 10-12 records into the batch, the record number indicator (left side of the input page) for the input line started drifting so that the record number was no longer centered vertically with the data input line. By the time I was half way through the batch, the record number on the left side of the input fields was aligned with the line between input lines. At the end of the batch the record number was not associated with input line at all. it was off by two or three lines. Visually confusing if you are using table entry. The coding for the page formatting appears to be off.

One of many issues with Table Entry Mode.

Until they overhaul Table Entry Mode, consider using Column Entry Mode - very handy with typed data as long as you periodically check for proper alignment. Row Entry Mode gives you the look and feel of Table Entry Mode without the baggage. Or try my favorite, Form Entry Mode, where you have maximum flexibility - can reorder and hide Fields, consistent and fast response time, and no issues like this. I use Form Entry mode almost exclusively, using Column Entry Mode for certain Projects (e,g, Liberia Census) or, along with Table Entry Mode, for periodic QC with Form Entry Mode being primary.
