Hello Robert,
Please provide the entire question about the print out of the portrait that goes back too many ancestors. Are you saying the entire portrait does not print, but you get a portion of it? Is it cutting off the lower part, or what? Also what do you mean by "goes back too many ancestors"?
It would be helpful to know more information about this person, such as name and ID number, the title of the portrait, and possibly a screenshot of the image you get, so we can help you troubleshoot.
We look forward to helping you with your portrait printing issue.

I had typed it all out, but made a error and put it in response window instead of "Ask". Tried to cut and paste,
but that didn;t put it all in order.
Say I bring up my father, me, my children and their babies. I select print and it doesn't show the babies, but
adds my grandfather and ggf. Also it will only do one of the childrens babies and not all. I can't find an option
to eliminate any of the ancestor's generations in order to get the younger ones printed. If I select me, but not
my father, it eliminates my siblings. fingers and hand are tired so I can't say more (89 years)
Robert
this is hard to explain by typing. voice is much better..

Hello @RobertCarter65
It sounds as if you are trying to print a portrait pedigree chart. Here is the knowledge article that explains the portrait pedigree view in Family Tree:
The issue with printing may be related to what person is appearing in the tree's primary position.
To print a portrait pedigree, click Options, then Print. When the printable version opens in a new tab, click your browser's print feature to print it.
I did a test to see how my own portrait pedigree displays when I select print. With myself in the primary position, I see my children (below me), my parents, and then both sets of grandparents. Above them I see my four sets of great-grandparents. So, in all, that is 5 generations.

Hi Robert,
Unfortunately FamilySearch is not set up to print all that in one. You can print you, each child, with their spouse and children, but not all the your children and grandchildren in one picture.
You might be able to find a partner program that can do what you want. We suggest you go to the Solutions Gallery to see if one is available. Go to the bottom of most pages in FamilySearch, click on "Solutions Gallery".
Or you may find a business near you that has that could help you with the printing you wish to do.
Wishing you success in finding a printing option that meets your needs.

Thanks for your comment, Since I did not see any options to limit generations, I assumed
that it was not possible. Just hated to print out another page only to show a child of a couple.
Would have meant another 50 pages to an already massive tree. Want to finish it before i
kick off. Took care of ALL of my funeral expenses so my brother would not be burdened
with that task...

Some of our partners have other options for printing information from Family Tree. These programs offer a wider variety of printing options than you find on the FamilySearch website.
