My father Richard Salyer died in 1991, his parents names are incorrect, his wife's name is incorrect. The only thing you have that is correct is Mary Lynn's birth and yes I am still living.

I have a similar question- what do you do if someone in your tree is still living, but marked as dead. This is a big problem since all of her personal info is (obviously) right there. I tried contacting the owner of the tree, but haven't heard back yet. Is there some other way to address this?

Hope you don't mind me jumping on board, Mary Lynn.

Certainly not Beth. I am in my Eighties, my sweet mother hauled around boxes of undated family photos and history from move to move, and I don't want to leave the same behind. I have reached out several times to LDS Family Research Center with no reply. I had a free trial with Ancestry.com and as far as I researched all their data was correct. After I compile everything I am going to become a member for the time needed to complete my goal. Also one my cousin's did travel to the LDS Salt Lake Family Research Center, she received so much help and information. There are centers in many cities that you can use and they offer assistance without you being a member of the church. Good luck on your quest.

Who did you try to contact, Beth? There is no "owner of the tree" on FamilySearch, as it's all one tree that we all work on together.

Anyone who discovers a profile for someone who they know to be living can -- and should! -- correct the error. Here are the "official" instructions on how to do that: https://www.familysearch.org/help/helpcenter/article/how-do-i-change-the-status-from-deceased-to-living-in-family-tree

    Thank you for the replies.

Julia, I was a little confused about whether I needed to go through the person who had entered the data about the person or if I could change it myself. It's been fixed. Thank you very much for the official link- I had been looking for it.

MaryLynn, if you don't mind me asking, how do you plan to go about identifying the pictures you have? I've got my own pile, but I don't know where to start on them.
