This particular image has two columns of dates, https://www.familysearch.org/indexing/batch/bcc8fcaf-561d-4d58-839a-5bcb32ad8d41

I am indexing the second date column, which is directly under the date heading, as the marriage date. Would that be correct?

Yes, you should index the second date as the marriage date.
