I am working on US Cities and Business Directories 1749-1990 (Part C) and the surname is not repeating AGAIN. This just keeps happening and it is most frustrating.

Have you tried using Cmd + D (MAC) or Ctrl + C (PC)? That will copy the last entry to the next entry. It helps a little. The other option on City Directories since many surnames are the same is to use the copy the text forward tool (6th icon from the right) and then when you need to change names enter that surname and copy the text forward. When you no longer have the same names, delete all information from the field and copy the empty space forward.

Your first option is too slow. I am, however, using the second option (i.e. 6th icon). However it is much more efficient if we just have to type in the first letter of the surname and hit enter. Hope this can be solved

Glad you liked one of the options until the engineers solve the issue.
